2012 GFR Final Rankings - Tide Rolled

For the 2nd time in 4 years, Alabama is the GFR National Champion. Last year they couldn’t overcome what LSU did even with the win in the National Championship Game. This year, they took care of business verse Notre Dame and jumped A&M (before the champ game results A&M was #1). Congrats to Saban and the Tide. You don’t get a Crystal Ball or trophy or plaque, just a spot in history.

The SEC also remained tops in conference strength. They widened the gap over the Big XII and doubled the Pac-12 and Big Ten. The Pac-12 also jumped up over the Big Ten to take the #3 spot.

Garwin Rankings

This weeks rankings are out, and the top 4 stayed the same....but shuffled a little bit.

Alabama continued to hold on to the top spot in this weeks Garwin Rankings with their last minute win in Baton Rouge.  Oregon's win in L.A. has moved them up to the #2 spot.  Florida State and THE Ohio State stay in the 5 and 6 slots.

SEC new comer Texas A&M is the 2nd highest SEC team in the GFR with Florida a few spots behind.

Thankfully though technology sometimes can suck…it can be restored and rebuilt, with that, welcome back new and improved Garwin Rankings!

Alabama takes the spot this week as Oregon State plummets with the Pac-12 conference showing some flaws.  Alabama is reaping benefits of Michigan hashing out Big Ten wins.  The SEC holds strong too taking 3 of the Top 10 slots with the Big XII slotting 2.

Ok, need to get the blog going a bit.  Been busy with stuff going on in life.  It happens.  So any readers if you’ve missed me I’m going to try to get things back going.

The BCS computers tabulated their poll and spit out Alabama and Florida at 1-2.  BUT neither are sitting at #1 in the Garwin Rankings.  The first release of the 2012 Garwin Rankings.

Oregon State takes the top spot by .21 points over the Tide and the Gators are right behind.  Rutgers sneaks up there too in the top 5 along with K-State.

As for conference’s overall strength, the Big XII tops everyone else by a sizeable margin.  Kansas is the lowest ranked Big XII team at 108, but then there is a gap to the next lowest at Oklahoma State and Baylor at 54 & 55 respectively.  The Big Ten, ripped by the media and everyone else comes in 3^rd.
