GFR College Football Rankings

Gig'Em!  The Aggies did the unthinkable and beat the once thought unbeatable.  And did it in style in Alabama's home stadium.

Freshman Johnny Manziel may have just earned a trip to New York City also for the Heisman Ceremony with his performance vs the Tide.

With the loss, Alabama did not fall to far from last week, dropping from 1 to 3.  A&M jumped from 7 to 5 ahead of the Seminoles and Buckeyes.

So for a week the Ducks are the new #1 by a decent margin over #2 K-State.

Conference wise, the SEC is closing the gap on the Big XII.  Both hold a size able gap over the Big Ten and PAC-12.

Garwin Rankings

This weeks rankings are out, and the top 4 stayed the same....but shuffled a little bit.

Alabama continued to hold on to the top spot in this weeks Garwin Rankings with their last minute win in Baton Rouge.  Oregon's win in L.A. has moved them up to the #2 spot.  Florida State and THE Ohio State stay in the 5 and 6 slots.

SEC new comer Texas A&M is the 2nd highest SEC team in the GFR with Florida a few spots behind.

2010 Cutler Award - Coach of the Year

A few stats for you:
Record: 23-2; 2 Conference Championships; 2010 offense averaged 42 points a game.

Not bad for a guy who lost his first game to Boise State and people wondered if he could be a coach at a top program after a player in that game cold cocked an opposing player and also had a lot of off the field issues.  Even with player defection and loss Chip Kelly has Oregon 12-0 and in the 2011 BCS Championship Game.  And with USC in Post Reggie Bush scandal, the Ducks may begin their own Pac-10/12 Dynasty under Chip Kelly.

The 2010 Cutler Coach of the Year, Oregon's Chip Kelly.
