2020 has been a year. Cancelled vacations, working from home 90% of the year and well today winter storm warnings and that white stuff. BUT who says you can't have fun in a pandemic AND winter storm. Nah uh...We're all in this together (so we are told but I don't trust politicians!) This is a full blown four alarm fun day! We're gonna have the happ-happ-happiest snow storm pandemic ever. Maybe.
And nothing says jolliest bunch of nut (I'm the only one home) this side of the nut house than Snow Angels in Swim Trunks. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye aren't coming in to tap dance, so it's just me trying bring some jolliness to your side of the nuthouse. Side Note, Corona if your watching...I'd take an endorsement?

Not to pat my own back, that's high quality right there
Sorry at the beginning of the video that there was only 1 angle shot, my videographer was a chair with a bungee cord. We went all out on our production of this video!
And well there is one outtake video....
Hope you all got a laugh and a smile or both out of this. 2020 PEACE OUT!
I wasn't sure about this flick going in, and with it getting pushed to Disney+ wasn't sure on that either but as usual Pixar knocked it out of the park! Great flick, great story and message.
Thank you to HBO Max the kids and I didn't have to go to the theater to watch the flick, and I'm kind of glad. I pregamed by watching the first movie, that I love, and this was a complete lack luster compared to that.
And its not because of the acting, it was more the overall story. Gal, Chris, Pedro and Kristen were all great. Pedro was almost over the top and totally different from the Mandalorian. I was curious of casting Kristen as a villain but her transformation was really well done. Gal was made for this role too! And young Diana was excellent.
The action scenes were really good too, not on par to the first but good. The thing that failed me is the whole "Wish" stone portion. It was almost like Pedro's character was Bruce Almighty and that was causing the chaos. Didn't enjoy that. And the 2 hour 30 min run time felt long.
This season is unlike any other and it would be cool to see what these players could have done with a full season. That being said I'm thankful, as all college fans should be with the season we got in. Congrats to the 2020 Campus Town Yearly Award Winners.

My dad, like many his age that grew up in the 50s/60s, became a fan of the most dominant team in baseball. They won World Series titles in 1947, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1958, 1961 and 1962. 10 Titles from birth to high school graduation. I've got to celebrate 1 World Series with the Cubs in 42 years. That's just dominant.
Not to mention they had probably the biggest array of stars to grace a baseball field. You can name them off with out looking them up. DiMaggio, Mantle, Maris, Berra, Larsen, Ford, and Martin. They are players immortalized in baseball. Why not be a fan?
In all that time though, dad had never gone to a game at Yankee Stadium. The House that Ruth built were all those legends played. It's a cathedral. Well was. 2008 was the last year the stadium would host games and then would be replaced by New Yankee Stadium, the House that Jeter built. I suggested to mom and Mike that we needed to get dad out to New York and we had to get him to a game there.
We started to get things into motion. Looking at the schedule and things going on in the summer, we aimed for a later in the year trip, and well who else to go see the Yankees play but the Boston Red Sox? Dad HATES the Red Sox. The game Mike got us the tickets for just happened to be the last time the Red Sox would play a regular season game there too. Perfect.
Father's Day 2008 the family gathered at Mike's house to unleash the surprise on dad. This was June, the trip would be at the end of August.
Flying out of Cedar Rapids we landed got to New York during midday Wednesday August 27th. The plan the first day was to see sights after checking into our hotel at the Waldorf. Our first sight we hit was a hot dog stand, because of course. After that the first day we hit Grand Central Terminal, and then made our way up to the top of the Empire State Building.
The hilarious part of this was dad was commenting about all the people on their cell phones the time we were walking around the city, when we got to the observation deck, he got on his phone and called some buddies about how great the reception was up there.
First night after the ESB, we ended up at a beer hall for some cold ones. I ended up chatting with a guy from Seattle in town for the Yanks-Sox series. Then had my ear chatted off by a lady who was a professor of psychiatry at Columbia. She was world famous, her dead husband was too and so were her kids. As she repeated many times in our conversation. Mike and dad still think if i kept talking to her we had free drinks all night. I did end up getting us a free round due to my attire of Cubs/Bears gear. A manager at the place we were at was from Chicago, and gave us a round.
Mike and I then dropped dad off at the hotel and he and I went out to venture around Times Square. Hit all the usual spots that make New York famous. We stopped by Mickey Mantle's sports bar for some beers and watch a lil baseball. We ended up talking to a guy from Kansas City who was in town for the US Open, was arrested for scalping tickets and ended up having to come back in October to go to court. We ended the night with "mystery" pizza from Ray's Pizza.
GAME DAY! I tell my kids when we travel to wear something Iowa one day and you'll hear a "Go Hawks" wherever you are. Walking down to the subway that's what we heard. Dad had his Hawkeye cap on and it ended up coming from a guy from Fort Dodge heading to the game himself. Small world! We walk out of the subway and you see the mammoth of the New Yankee Stadium. It dwarfed the old building. I haven't been there yet but it is on my list of stadiums to see. They closed off Monument Park and that's the only thing of this day that I would change. It would have been cool to be able to get in there and see that. We did get to see it from a distance.
During the 2008 season, the Yankees were not great and with the way the Rays and Red Sox were playing, they were not going to make the playoffs so we knew this was going to be the last Red Sox-Yankees game in the building.
During the game dad made conversation with a group of guys from Uruguay who buy and sell alcohol all over the city. We all ended up talking to them most the game. As for the game, it was mostly dominated by the Red Sox until the the 7th inning. Down 2-0 on the first pitch he saw Jason Giambi launched a ball 420 feet over the center field wall. The place went nuts. Tie game 2-2. No action till the 9th. The Yankees loaded the bases with 1 out, and up again came Jason Giambi. The Red Sox brought in their closer Jonathan Paplebon. On an 0-2 pitch Giambi slapped a liner to center field scoring Brian Gardner. Queue up Ole Blue Eyes and some New York, New York!
I've seen dad pretty happy after some Iowa games (Iowa-Mich 85 comes to mind) but this was awesome. The ending was great and dramatic, and then to be able to be there and see his reaction, priceless.
If you looks closely I think you can even see a tear of joy. It was as fun there soaking up the stadium after the game as it was after being in Wrigley in 2016 when the Cubs clinched the Central Division (that post to come). Just amazing.
Then the aftermath of the game may have been just as fun. Heading out of the Bronx getting on the standing on the subway platform waiting for the train I got "mugged" by coworkers from back in Des Moines. My dad's reaction of 'What's going on' was priceless, as was I bet my face. I knew they would be there but who knew we'd be on the platform at the same time.
Once we got back downtown we needed to go eat and celebrate. Walked a few blocks away from the Waldorf to a little Italian joint called Mimi's. We score the corner table there and spend a good chunk of time there with drinks and celebrating. Fun Fact, I had my first cannoli there. I'm pretty sure our bill was doubled due to celebrating with drinks.
After that we walked toward the hotel and hit a lil Irish pub, Naills. We walk in and we are the only ones there, order our drinks and start to talk with the bartender. You could tell she wasn't a fan of our test in music as she kept skipping the country music songs I played on the jukebox. Then the fun really started. A couple of guys walked in to the bar, and we struck it up with them. They were Chinese street volleyball players, born in South America, worked on German cars and drinking Irish beer. How's that for a combo?
If Facebook would have been around then Mike and I would have had 2 new friends. They were on a quest to get a drink at every bar from where they started back to Chinatown, AND be ready to play street volleyball in the morning. We have no idea if they made it but dad semi adopted two new kids that night.
Mike and I ended up dropping dad off at the hotel and then went back toward Times Square that night. Time was a blur but when we strolled into the room at what was about 2 am the best part was dad was still awake and drunk dialed mom back in Iowa. This day will always be a top 10 day best ever in my life.
The next day was spent hitting tourist spots. Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty, Rupert's Deli, and getting as close as we could to Ground Zero. Mike shot down to the Bull and Bear bar to try to get on MSNBC before we returned to Mimi's for another supper. We must have made an impression the night before because the bartender remember our drinks and dad ended up getting a free tshirt. We didn't get as rowdy as the night before but Mike and I did go back out after dropping dad off at the hotel again. About 11 pm dad called my cell phone to remind us that we had a 5 am flight the next day.
The next day we got home, Iowa and Hawkeye football.
Fast forward to Father's Day 2009. First off there's now way to top 2008, but the 2009 gift had a hint of the year before. I got dad a framed picture of the 3 of us after the game at Yankee Stadium that dad's ticket stub is now in with it, along with a Yankees tie fleece blanket.
I haven't been to the new Yankee's stadium or Citi Field but I'm going to go out on a limb that it won't beat the first trip there.
This is one of the traditions in Norwalk that I really love, Santa Claus driving around on a fire truck all around town.
What made it really cool this year was after the first really big snow the neighborhood kids including Ryleigh were in the cul-de-sac playing King of the Hill and a snowball fight and then chanting "here comes Santa here comes Santa."
That was really cool to see and may have ungrinched me a little bit.
What didn't ungrinch me was what the elf did last night. I wake up to Ry saying " Dad you better look outside and I don't mean it to snow"
Jolly had a little fun with the toilet paper which is like gold now in the pandemic and used his quarantine jar as a potty.
But it was priceless to hear her voice the excitement the laughter. I couldn't help but smile.
We need more Santa Claus movies with Mel Gibson as Santa! This was entertaining as hell. A great escape for a night. And it comes with a great message every spoiled kid should hear at the end.
Before we get ahead of ourselves...there will be spoilers listed below.
This past week the Saved By the Bell Reboot dropped on Peacock. I was a fan of the original in the 90s on Saturday mornings and before binging the reboot this past holiday weekend, I went through the College Years. Even though it only lasted one year at Cal U, I liked the College Years. Zack matured, some; Kelly grew up, AC's character blossomed more from just a jock and well Screech was screech. And at the time they hit on a few items of growing up and being in the college setting.
Now to the reboot. Season 1 is 10 episodes and about oh a good 30 mins or so. It brings in kids from a under funded school district to integrate with Bayside due to Governor Morris closing down some of those schools. In all of it, in my mind, somewhere from when Belding and Screech left with the new class Bayside went, well Valley. It's now a school for well off rich kids, and some not really that bright. (I'll get into that)
They try to keep some of the fun of the old show when they were in high school with Zack and Slater's pranks, and also hit in on some of today's issues regarding the situation they are in with schools merging. It also ties in some nice little easter eggs from the past.
The Old Gang
AC Slater and Jessie Spano are the main group that is in practically every episode. AC is the coach/AD and Jessie is counselor. Zack is now the Governor of California and Kelly is busy being the first lady. We find out that Screech is off on the space station with his robot Kevin we also get a cameo from Lisa who is off in Paris with a fashion show.
It seems as if AC has been in this position for a while. Probably since college from what it sounds like. He would have seen Bayside go from what it was to what it is now. Leaving the College Years AC had gotten to be a strong personality and very confident. He already was athletically but was growing as a person. Kind of getting a little Jessie in him and getting involved in bigger issues. Slater now seems to have got insecure and lost that knowledge he had. The athletics department is also suffering and losing games acting like well pansies. Slater in HS and College Years would have never allowed that.
In the last years of high school some how Zack got a little smarter and then in the college years you could see that too, and then somehow got elected Governor, so he can't be dumb right? Well it seems politics made him an idiot. The way he comes off is as a character here shocks me from where Zack was. Just watching him it's like WTF.
Then there's Kelly. She went all 90210 on Zack almost every time on the screen. Saying she's going to seduce him or even in the max they are all over each other and pretty much needing a room. And she was never a dumb student in school or college but she went totally ditzy here. She had a few moments with Mac that brought back old Kelly that I appreciated.
Of the 4 oldies, Jessie was the one who kind of seemed to stay true to character. She got to make fun of her caffeine pill episode (seen in the trailer) and gets a chance to grow here also from a somewhat weakened version of herself to Jessie F@#%^N Spano that we know. The other thing I did notice is that Jessie showed a TON of cleavage in the episodes. I'm trying to think if this was a nod to the Showgirls movies?
Lisa makes a surprise cameo from Paris over a face time call, and she really hasn't changed from who she is. She's Lisa.
They played off Screech being in space, but I was really shocked there was no Belding sighting. Maybe Season 2.
The New Gang
Lexi, probably my least favorite of the new characters. She's coming off as a rich kid bully, basically shes a Kardashian. She comes close to making a turn and then goes back to her character but for a good reason. I also look at this character and think, WHY IS SHE AT BAYSIDE? She comes off as a girl I would think of seeing at Valley.
Mac is Zack and Kelly's son. He is a entitled rich kid, which is nothing Zack or Kelly ever were. This kid is just spoiled and why do kids like him? Ok it's high school and those type of kids seem to be the most popular. He pulls pranks that he can and he comes off as more trash than his dad. He does end up having daddy issues too which they hit on a good portion. Really most episodes I didn't care for Mac, he had some moments but I don't expect him to change much throughout the series.
Jamie Spano, Jessie's son. Repeat Jessie's son. How is this kid this damn stupid? Really? Did you have to make Jessie's son Shaggy? Why not give him some Scooby snacks, which I'm kind of shocked they didn't. And how the hell do you give speeches like his to a football locker room and congratulate the other team for a good tackle. And AC stands there and doesn't say anything. WTF. I was just really shocked at him. Also being spoiled. I never saw Jessie that way, why did they do that to him?
Aisha coming from Douglas over to Bayside she was the most manly of all the characters. I understand girls wanting to play football and that happens here, but how does she not kick all the others asses. Part of me thought they brought the football team down to elevate her. Which in hindsight doesn't elevate her enough. My 9 yr old daughter could have quarterbacked that team. I do like the character though and curious where she goes. The relationship between her and Jamie seemed forced due to the football team, but it will be interesting to see where it goes after what happened in the finale.
Daisy is the main character that we follow around. She comes from a poor family and is thrust into this rich kid world. She reminds me of a mix of Zack and Jessie's characters. One she gets Zack's cell phone and time out ability (easter eggs) and she's the smartest kid and most driven of them all. She also has some really dumb story lines. Yes the kids from Bayside befriend her but in a few episodes she turns just as bratty and spoiled rotten as them. This seemed like a missed opportunity to keep her strong willed of who she is. Also there is a party episode where she pregames and is really messed up. It seemed like a missed opportunity to hit on not drinking as a young person. By the end of the season she comes back.
Mr Toddman is the principal here and most of his scenes are really hard to watch. He's no Belding and he forces everything. I didn't mind his interactions with Jessie and Slater and he has a really great moment in the 9th episode that I would hope would keep him on that path. Also why did the writers try to Lucas this and tie him back to the group in the original series. TERRIBLE. Not all things need to be connected.
Devante is probably my favorite character of the new group. In the 80's and 90's shows would mostly have the big kid be in sports. Football and Basketball, etc. But they had him with no interest in that. He goes the route of theater. Really liked that. Wouldn't have minded if he did both and been more diversified and the football team could have used it but you learn his back story to of why he's maybe only doing one. He doesn't talk as much as Aisha and Daisy but he is the most effective especially moving the main theme of the series along.
I enjoyed sitting down with the kids and watching the episodes and loved the moments of the old gang and the little easter eggs thrown throughout but overall on the first season I was frustrated with the little stories and what I saw as missed opportunities for this reboot. I really hate to say it but the trailer was probably the best part of the series. The old gang almost took steps back in their 30 years since the original series aired.
A few things I did like, I liked the expanded view of the school. In the original you really only saw one class room, Belding's office and those iconic red lockers. The views off that hallway give you a better idea of the school as a whole, and there's no more 1/2 size gym.
I really think that there are better ways that season 2 can go from where it is:
I think you need to give Jamie Spano a spine, I don't know if you can give him knowledge. And grow some balls if you're going to be a football captain
Mac is gonna stay Mac, he's a Morris
Can Lexi transfer to Valley?
Daisy needs to not forget about her roots while becoming a Bayside Tiger. Learn from Jessie and stand up
Devante keep doing what your doing
Less Toddman forced jokes and interactions
Bring Screech in, have Zack give him a parade after getting back from the Space Station
AC needs to get his confidence back and get that Tigers back and be strong
We are going toward a Jessie/AC relationship again, just keep being Jessie though
I know I'm probably harder on this than most reviews but I loved the show and enjoyed it on Saturdays and reruns and in prime time. Willing to give Season 2 a go and really hope it happens.
Yes I'm a grinch, but over the years the kids have tried to warm my heart and it has happened in the past few years. It still freezes up and needs to re-thaw every year but seeing them and their excitement over this time of the year help. Addy's eyes and smile last year visiting Santa I think increased my heart size 5 times. Lord knows what I spend on Amazon doesn't help at all.
Last night we went to go see Santa at the tree lighting in Norwalk. Santa really lights up Ry's eyes and really all of the kids. Ryleigh got to tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas, a Barbie Dream House, the 2020 version. Yes she knows what each year's house looks like. In the end we got a cookie, some candy canes and hot cocoa.
Thanksgiving 2020 during a pandemic was a lot different this year, but than again what this year has been close to normal.
The 4 of us stayed here in Norwalk, and did a virtual Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad in Marshalltown and then Mike, Sue & Brendan in West Des Moines.
We all meet up on Google Meet and chatted for about 30 minutes while we were just getting started to eat.
This was my first ever attempt to cook any form of turkey that wasn't a slice of shaved turkey on a grilled cheese. Bought us a turkey roast and well at first it didn't turn out so good. I sliced into and it was raw in the middle. Cranked up the heat and about 45 mins later it was ready, along with everything else.
Along with the turkey made some taters/gravy, stuffing, corn, green bean casserole, rolls and cranberry sauce. No Thanksgiving is complete with out Bent River Sweet Potato Ale either. Those always go down smooth. The kids cheers'd with sparkling grape juice.
With all that has gone on in the past year, it wasn't the day we originally invisioned for Thanksgiving coming into this year but we made the best of it all. There was a lot of laughing, and good times. Got Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving and Garfield's Thanksgiving Special watched and kicked off some Christmas viewing with Home Alone.
We also got to celebrate the Hawks beating Nebraska for the 6th year in a row!
With Christmas only about 4 weeks away I'm betting we will have the same set up coming up for that too. Thankful for technology so the kids can all connect.
Since Covid has hit, the kids and I haven't had to many activities that didn't get cancelled. One of the things that did was Girls on the Run in the spring of 2020 for Ryleigh. She got 3 practices in and then it was axed.
Cautiously she wanted to do it again and signed her up for it. Today was the culmination of the fall season of 2020 for Girls on the Run and I got to be her running buddy for the 5K.
She conquered running into 40 mph winds head on for the first half of the run and then had it pushing us the last half. We finished in 31:35. Not to bad for her first 5k and my first on my fixed knee. Hopefully in the spring covid will be gone and we'll improve on our times.
College football bowl schedule was released from Bowl Season on Twitter. A few things of note.
No Holiday Bowl this season due to the pandemic. Curious also with cost to run a bowl in a stadium barely being used how much longer it can last at Qualcomm or what ever its called now. I know Iowa-USC drew a decent crowd but maybe they need to look at moving it to the MLS park that will be built there.
A few new bowls are popping up in Myrtle Beach, Frisco Texas and Sofi Stadium.
The one of note here is the LA Bowl. It is in the brand new Rams stadium, a 5 billion dollar stadium. How soon till that stadium is a player in the major New Years Day 6, and along with the Las Vegas Bowl. These stadiums aren't going to sit out from having not being a major player in the college football world.
The Cotton Bowl moved from the Cotton Bowl on the grounds of the Texas State Fair to the Billion dollar stadium of Jerry World. The Rose Bowl is an epic setting but could something be moved to SoFi that upstages the Rose?
Las Vegas is just to much of a gold mine money pit for everyone involved to not be throw in there. It does get an upgrade soon with the SEC/BIG Ten partnerships.
I think we could see these New Year 6 expand to a New Years 8 with those 2 venues.
Covid in week 2 has made its self known in the Big Ten. Wisconsin's is infected. Quarterbacks, head coach and others. That game has been ruled a no contest. No word yet on what will happen with their week 10 match-up with Purdue. To compete in the Big Ten title game they must compete in 6 games. Interesting times ahead. Politics has paved its way into covid, how will they affect the Big Ten now.
Team of the Week : Kansas State : With a lot of the focus in the conference on the showdown in Stillwater, the Wildcats showed up and did what was expected; they DESTROYED Kansas. K-State was helped along with 2 punt returns for scores by Phillip Brooks. 55 yards in the first quarter and then 52 at the end of the first half. The Wildcats are no 4-0 in the Big XII and along with Oklahoma State have big jump ahead of the rest of the conference to get to Arlington and the Big XII Title Game. With the 55-14 win the 'Cats have won 12 straight Sunflower State Showdowns. The longest by either school in the battle for the Governors Cup.
Game of the Week : Oklahoma State 24 - Iowa State 21 : The showdown in Stillwater felt more like a Big Ten Game rather than a Big XII shootout. With these 2 teams defenses I'm not really shocked though. The Cyclones scored first, but after OSU scored to tie it seemed they had control of the game. The Pokes in the second half etched out a 10 point lead early in the fourth quarter. The Clones scored late with 49 seconds left, but couldn't recover the onside kick to make it more interesting. Oklahoma State along with K-State now are jockeyed ahead of everyone in the conference for the bids to the title game. The Cowboys needed this one more though with their next 3 games vs Texas, KState and Oklahoma. Don't count Iowa State out of anything either. They own the tie breaker over Oklahoma and get Texas and K-State coming up.
Player of the Week : Phillip Brooks - PR - KState : Brooks set school records for KState for Punt Return yardage and scores in a game with his 2 scores vs Kansas. Brooks 4 returns totaled 189 yards for the Wildcats. His first return of 55 yards put KState on the board first. His other score closed out the first half, essentially putting the nail in the coffin for the Jayhawks.
Welcome back Big Ten Football! It wasn't the same with out you! Week 8 (1) brought quarterbacks going on crazy completion streaks, a rivalry trophy game, a few upsets and a shocker in Bloomington.
Team of the Week : Rutgers : The Schiano-effect hitting full power in the Scarlet Knights first game in East Lansing. This could have gone to Indiana (upset of Penn State) or Michigan (a hot pick to be upset-see weekly picks) but this is going to a team that ended a 21 game conference losing streak in a DOMINATING fashion. Rutgers forced 7 Spartan turnovers; 7! One coming on the 1 yard line and setting up a 14-0 1st quarter lead. The game wasn't as close as the 38-27 score, felt more like a 30 pt lead. Congrats Rutgers on breaking the streak. Next up, the newly ranked Indiana Hoosiers.
Game of the Week : Indiana 36 - Penn State 35 (OT) : Going into Saturday the Hoosiers were 22-1 vs Penn State all time. They only gained 211 yards and gave up 488, but got it where it mattered most, on the scoreboard. They got it by the closest of margins too. The game went back and forth in spite of the yardage difference. The Hoosiers raced out to a 17-7 half time lead behind Stevie Scott's 2 touchdown runs. Penn State owned the 2nd half and got out to a 28-20 lead late in the 4th. Indiana went 75 yards then in a 1:20 and a 2 point conversion tied the game. After a short kick and good return, Penn State had a chance to kick a field goal at the end of regulation but missed the 57 yarder. In overtime, Penn State QB Sean Clifford hit Parker Washington for a score, and added the PAT. Five players later Michael Penix Jr hit Whop Philyor for the score. The Hoosiers than opted to go for 2 and well they got it by the closest of margins.
Player of the Week : Grahm Mertz - QB - Wisconsin : The Wisconsin QB made his first career start Friday night vs Illinois, and made it one he won't forget. Mertz completed his first 17 throws vs the Illini. That tied a program record. He also tossed 5 touchdowns among his 20 completions, also a program record. He finished the game 20/21 with 248 yards. This was all possible due to the Badgers original start Jack Coan. Mertz's efforts helped lead the Badgers to a 45-7 win in their conference opener.
Freshman QB @GrahamMertz5 sure lived up to the hype in his first career start 😎
Word did come down late Sunday afternoon that Mertz did test positive for Covid-19. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery! This also creates another question in the Badger backfield though.
There is a reason I only bet money on the Big Ten games, the SEC games last week I picked for upset didn't happen. The upsets that did happen I lost. That cost me and the won-loss record was 5-4 for the week.
From last week it is clear that Clemson and Alabama are the top 2 schools playing right now. The dominance by Clemson is amazing. It also shows the huge gap between them and everyone else in the ACC. I don't see the Irish putting up any fight and they should roll into the playoff.
Alabama looked like they were in for a battle in the first half verse Georgia, then after halftime the Tide Rolled.
Ohio State will have some say in the title picture but the rest of the landscape of the 2020 College Football Empire belongs to the Tide and Tigers.
This week the game of the week is in Stillwater. Oklahoma State is unbeaten and hosts Iowa State who is undefeated in conference play. Iowa State has tiebreakers over TCU and Oklahoma right now. The Cowboys over West Virginia. The winner of this game will jump out in front as the clear leader in the race to Arlington. A Cowboy win would be huge with their slate of Texas, K-State, and Oklahoma all coming up. Iowa State still has a game with Texas, K-State and West Virginia coming up so this would be a commanding win for the Clones.
