How to fix Major League Baseball, after it expand to 32 teams

Expansion
Proposed Portland Stadium
With the push that is coming out of the Northeast and Portland to get an expansion baseball team, it looks like baseball will sooner than later expand to 32 teams.  There is also noise being made north of the border in Montreal for a group to bring the Expos back.  All of this is rumored to not be completed till after stadiums are figured out in Tampa and Oakland.  Now no one goes to games a lot in either market but I can’t see Oakland losing their team.  Tampa on the other hand should not be there and I’m projecting with the expansion into Portland and Montreal, that Nashville will be the other city to get a team.

Charlotte Baseball
Charlotte and Vegas are also mentioned with Nashville as an expansion target.  Vegas is getting the Raiders and have done well with the Golden Knights, but I don’t see them ever getting a baseball team.  If they do that is the day that Pete Rose is let back into Baseball and inducted into the Hall of Fame.  It’s down to Charlotte and Nashville.  Both cities have an it factor, and either can edge each other out.  For my example you can interchange either, but I’m going to use Nashville as my example.

Realignment
With the addition and movement of franchises, the divisions are going to get changed up and teams moving leagues.  It’s happened before with the Astros and Brewers, and I’m not moving stalwarts.

Montreal will go back to the NL and get its NL East rivals back.  Portland moves to the AL West and gets a close rival with Seattle.  The Tampa franchise that moves to Nashville will jump to the National League to the SouthEast and get to play more regional rivals.  Colorado moves to the AL and gets the DH in Coors Field and that thin air all the time now.

Each league would be Four 4 team divisions, regionally based and structured.

The schedule
Cut the season down from 162 to 154 games.  There are roughly 26 weeks between first week of April and the last week of September, DO NOT START GAMES IN MARCH.  It takes 22 weeks to play 154 games straight through, without byes or days off.  4 weeks off should be plenty of time, also with the All-Star break in there.  (Schedule breakdown coming).

Teams would play more games within its own division than other opponents.  Here is what the 154 game schedule breakdown would look like:
66 games vs Division opponents (22 vs each team)
72 games vs League opponents (3 game series vs each team Home and Home with all)
12 games vs a Cross League division.  (2 Home 3-game series and 2 Away 3-game series)
4 games vs a Cross League rival (Cubs-White Sox / Yankees Mets) OR 2 2-game series vs Random Cross League teams (San Diego-Portland / San Diego-Seattle)

With the last point, there will be seasons where teams would have a natural geographic rival in the Cross League Division, then random fits would be slotted in.

Players would get 8 games cut off the season, and as Anthony Rizzo mentioned, the should take less (prorated) for playing fewer games.

The Playoffs
Each league would have 6 playoff teams.  The 4 division winners and the next 2 best records in the league.
2 Best Division Champions in the league would get a bye.
2 Lesser Division Champions would get Home Field advantage in a best of 3 series vs the 2 Wild Card
The DS would still be best of 5, CS best of 7 and World Series best of 7.

Schedule of the Playoffs
With this the World Series would go into November more.  But the schedule should be set to where it can be moved up if sweeps happen.  If series would go the full 3 and 5 games in the first 2 rounds, they would be finished up within the first 14 days of the playoffs.

This all seems too easy for someone in a cube and with 3 kids to manage to figure out so FOR SURE MLB would not go this route.  But laid out, this option for the league and fans would be a great fit.

Friday 6 Pack

1. Melky Cabrera of the Giants was suspended for performance enhancers last week and suspended 50 games.  Many players have been caught and suspended; do the current rules work for MLB in testing and the punishment?  Should something more be done?
Matt – 50 games doesn’t seem to worry these guys.  I say suspend them a year without pay.  Second strike your done.  That may be enough of a punishment to keep clean.  These guys have kids looking up to them.  An organization that is paying them greatly relies on them to be clean.  Strike fear in them.  They just aren’t worried right now about it.
WendtI saw a tweet about one and done when it comes to suspensions, and while I doubt that will ever happen it might actually keep these guys from cheating. Feels like MLB wants them to continue to hit a ton of homeruns and if they need to cheat, do it, but don't get caught
Painter – I'm close to the point of letting these guys get juiced up and let them have at it.  Players that want to cheat will find a way around the rules if at all possible.
Blake – The users are always ahead of the testing, that's why it seems like it would be smart for baseball to bring on Victor Conte as a consultant.  Short of that, I'm not sure why you get 3 strikes before getting banned.  Why not one strike?  1 positive and you're done with the game forever.  That should be a deterrent
BSox50 games is pretty big, and if you’re like melky and get caught at the end of the season, it becomes an even bigger deal.
MajorsUntil the salaries are adjusted, the players will continue to keep skirting the rules. It's all about the benjamins
Silker50 games is a big hit. I think that is a good punishment. However if he is found guilty of making the fake website, then a larger suspension should be in order. As strong of a penalty as ESPN analysts are saying with deportation, I think this is a bit harsh.

2. Chad Johnson was cut by the Dolphins last week after an arrest.  TO is currently buried on the Seahawks depth chart.  The best WR in the game are very quiet in Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson.  Is the NFL Diva WR dying out?
Matt – Larry Fitzgerald, Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson—these guys are the model WR.  TO and CJ acted like they just spent a season at the U with Michael Irvin.  I hope the diva player is dying out and knowing they can get cut.
WendtHaving confidence is great but over the line "hey look at me" stuff just never seems to work. I like my players being confident until it turns into "look at me"
Painter – It was a fad and just like every fad it will die and then come back.  I think there are still some diva WR but the top players are doing it the right way (letting their play speak for them).  I gotta admit it was kind of fun when CJ and TO were performing well and performing their stunts.
Blake – I hope so.  A very similar thing happened in the NBA.  A lot of the diva players (think Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson) fizzled out, and were replaced by more humble stars (yes, LBJ and even the Dwightmare are more humble than the aforementioned).
BSoxNa, there will always be those dudes, it just happens to be the Chad and TO got old, but at least at some point they backed up all the hype.
MajorsNo, you still have Dez Bryant who is banned from the Dallas area malls, you have Titus Young, you have Santonio Holmes, you have Plexi-glass, you have Crabtree. The number of them may be a little smaller, but they are still there
SilkerI hope so. These "Divas" are actors who play football. We shouldn't give them the time.

Ok, College football is damn near here; TIME FOR PREDICTIONS!

3.  Who wins the faces off in the Big Ten title game in Indy and who raises the Stagg Trophy as Big Ten Champion?
Matt – Wisconsin over Nebraska.  There will be a bit of Red in Indy.
WendtWisconsin vs Michigan State with Sparty pulling the upset
Painter – Wisconsin vs Michigan with Michigan going to the Rose Bowl.
Blake – I'll take Wisconsin and Michigan, and Wisconsin hoists the Trophy.  That said, it's Football and strange things happen
BSoxI’d love to say Iowa, but I don’t think it will happen. I gotta believe that Wisconsin will be one of the teams simply because there isn’t a better choice in the leaders because of Penn St and Ohio St banned from post season. Right now, I’m going to go with Michigan from the Legends. Nebraska could make it, but Michigan looks like a better bet at the moment.
Zach
MajorsI'm going with Wisconsin & Michigan, ugh. I say the Sconnies take the title
SilkerUnfortunately I have to say Michigan wins it all. I dislike them as a team but they have all the weapons to be a title contender

4.  Who wins the Big XII conference?  Will a newbie in TCU or West Virginia topple Texas or Oklahoma?
Matt – Boomer Sooner.  Though I think Texas, West Virginia and K-State could pull off a surprise here.
WendtI'll take the safe pick with Oklahoma
Painter – I'll take the powerhouse that is Oklahoma
Blake – Don't forget K-State either.  They have the potential to be a big time spoiler if those other teams stumble.  I don't see Texas winning the league, and think it's mostly between Oklahoma and West Virginia.
BSoxWest Virginia might have a chance, but I’m going with Oklahoma…until they stumble for whatever reason like past years
MajorsI think OU is still tough, they will take it this year
SilkerOklahoma continues its winning ways. TCU starts strong but is not a big enough power house yet.

5.  Who wins the second to last BCS Championship game?  Does the SEC make it 7 in a row?
Matt – I’m taking USC to end the SEC streak over the Georgia Bulldogs
WendtUSC vs LSU and I'll take USC as BCS National Champions
Painter – Against my best judgement I'm going with USC.
Blake – First time I can ever say this, but if it's not a Big 10 team, I'm rooting for USC.
BSoxUSC or Bama. I’m leaning SEC though
MajorsMan, tough to count out the SEC. I think the lack of depth will hurt USC, plus they have to play Oregon twice more than likely. I am going to go with a little long shot, though. How about them Dawgs? Let's see if UGA can pull off an upset
SilkerI hope someone other than the SEC. However I will take a Bama repeat before a trojan win. I hope lane kiffin never wins it with the Trojans

6.  Politics and the 2012 election are taking over commercials, social media and seem like daily phone calls.  Is there anything worse than the last few months of the election?
Matt – I’m really tired that it’s all negative.  I don’t see it getting any better.  First you cut down your own party members, and then you try to work with them.  And really do they need to waste this much money?  Think of where that money could be going.  Sad thing is after November it’s going to ramp up to midterm and 2016 too.  Our political system is really messed up
WendtThe only thing that is worse is watching politicians say something stupid and thinking to yourself "this guy wants to help run the country?" SMH
PainterThe only thing that can come close is the month or two before the Presidential caucuses.
Blake – This year is worst than most.  The negativity, fear mongering, and over the top politics are making me sick.  The worst part is, we will only have a couple months off, and then the politicking for the mid-terms will start.  Ugh
BSoxI’d love to say yes, but I have to go with no. I hate when people are republican or democrat, and they have no real reason as to why they are. The last election drove me crazy because people didn’t vote for Obama because of his ideas, they voted for him because it was the popular thing to do. My biggest thing is just for people to read and research before they vote.
MajorsYes. The Iowa State Cyclones
Silker Does dancing with the stars count? I agree though each year the election period gets longer and longer and worse and worse for negative campaigns. This year is bad with the super pacs being able to buy their own advertising without the campaign endorsement.

Friday 6 Pack

1-The All-Star Game is this week in Kansas City, and still according to Bud Selig “Now it Matters.”  Do you like the ASG being the determining factor of home field advantage in the World Series?
Matt – No, I hate it.  It’s an exhibition game.  It’s for the fans.  Home field advantage should go to the team with the best record.  Bud should have made it so that there is something more the players want for the all-star game winner than home field advantage.  Make it something they want to play for.
Wendt – There seems to be so many replacements that it doesn't feel like the best players will all be there, so no I don't like it
Painter – It's an exhibition game and should be treated like one by the league and the fans.  If it ends in a tie then so be it.  Nothing should be determined by an all-star game.
Blake – I go back and forth on this.  My current feelings are the game is supposed to be fun.  It's for the fans.  And the 2nd and 3rd tier players are the ones in at the end of the game.  Let's just make it for fun again and take away home field advantage.
Majors – I enjoy the ASG, but not sure about the deciding factor. If it is, then the players should play the whole game, or at least more of it. I enjoy the exhibition of it, not the deciding outcome of it

2-If the season ended today, the NL would have 5 teams in the playoffs who weren’t in the playoffs last year. (Nats-East / Pirates-Cent / Dodgers-West / Braves & Reds-WC)  Of the 5 which one will have the most difficulty making the post season come October?
Matt – All of them could be out come October.  I think the Pirates are learning from last season and will make it to the post season.  I’m going to say the young Nationals.  They’ve not experienced this before and the pressure will grow.  Obama would love it though to have a White Sox-Nationals World Series.
Wendt – I just can't see the Pirates keeping things together this season, I'll go ahead and predict they'll end up in 3rd when the dust settles in the Central
Painter – Will - Dodgers.  Doesn't - Braves.
Blake – Pirates just because we saw this last year, and nobody is getting a Wild Card from the Central in my opinion.
Majors – I think the Pirates, because the Reds & Cardinals both are in that division, even Milwaukee. Not too many worries coming regarding the Cubs, though, haha!

3-Since we last met you, there needs to be a power point presentation on what NBA players are going where.  Kidd to the Knicks, Nash to the Lakers, Lin to Houston maybe?  And then there is the Dwightmare going on.  The latest one has Ray Allen taking his talents to the Heat to make a Big 4.  What team in the crazy off season has improved the most?
Matt – I want to say the Lakers.  Who was their PG last year?  Fisher ended up in OKC.  This I think helps Kobe out and if they can get Dwight they are a force to be reckoned with.
Wendt – I like Nash to the Lakers but the biggest fish in the market is still Dwight Howard
Painter – Ok, of the teams making moves I'll go with the Lakers because of Nash
Blake – As long as Dwight to the Nets is truly dead, I think the Lakers and the Heat both improved greatly.  Did you see what happened to the Heat when their role players stepped up.  They now have role players.  And Nash will only reenergize Kobe.  That offense will be insane.
Majors – Not trying to sound like a Laker fan here, but with Nash they really have improved. He can score, dish, and is smart and never gives up. I think he will really help Bynum & Gasol, and especially Kobe. That being said, I do not expect Gasol and/or Bynum to be there next year. Too much drama, money, etc. We shall see, though

4-News this morning that Phil Mickelson and partners will put a bid in to buy the San Diego Padres.  Other than your favorite teams, what sports franchise would you put a bid in to buy if you had the money?
Matt – Gonna sound crazy, but the Minnesota Wild.  They love their hockey up there in the twin cities and the Xcel Energy Center is a great arena.
Wendt – I think it might be fun to own a minor league team to be honest with ya, maybe the Iowa Cubs? I'm not sure I'd want the headache of a professional franchise
Painter – New Orleans Hornets.  Fun town and I'm sure you can get them on the cheap
Blake – Dolphins.  No reason such a historic franchise in that City should be so crappy.
Majors – Can I say the broncos or chiefs, so that I can burn the stadiums to the ground? No? Ok, ummm... the Cubbies. Why? Because they are the friggin Cubbies. Someone needs to get them going & win a Ring!!! Plus it would be REALLY cool to go to work everyday at a MLB ballpark, and Wrigley would rock!!! A close second would be the Bears

5-Big Brother starts this week on CBS, would this be a reality show you would try out for?  Would you like cameras on you 24-7 for up to 3 months?
Matt – In college I wanted to apply for this one, but now a days I don’t think I could do it.  I think after a few weeks I’d go nuts in there, especially without TV or internet.
Wendt – I am ashamed to admit that I watched it a ton last season (including the web streams and the like) I think it might be fun to try out for but having a camera on you 24/7? Yeah, not a fan.
Painter – I have no desire to be on one of these game shows (it's not reality television
Blake – No way.  I don't have a mouth filter long enough for 24-7 cameras.
Majors – Nah. Ends up ruining too many people, just not interested. I would do Survivor, though!

6-The Amazing Spiderman opened last week to the tune of around 160 million +, excited about the reboot or would you have rather seen a 4th installment from Sam Rami and Tobey Maguire?
Matt – After the debacle of Spiderman 3 I was skeptical on the direction Rami was going.  Spiderman 2 is one of my favorite super hero movies ever.  This was a good reboot and gives a different look at Spidey.  I think this takes a bit of the Dark Knight – Nolan series too with establish your hero but don’t waste the main villain on the first movie.  I think we’ll see the Goblin in the next movie but maybe it would be cool to build up to that in the final one?  I just don’t want to see reboots every 10 years.  Make a good series of movies, maybe 3-4-5 of this group, then let it sit for a bit.  I don’t think that will ever happen because of the money the movies make.
Wendt – I'm trying to get in on the superhero franchise stuff I really am but........well I just can't, not sure why
Painter – Not real excited about either option actually.  Sony had to do something to keep up with Disney having the other Avengers
Blake – Ugh, I'm so over super hero movies.
Majors – I liked Tobey, but the reboot is kinda cool. It will be neat to see where they go

Father’s Day Weekend 6Pack

Happy Father’s Day to all Dad’s out there, some words from the great Payne Stewart immediately after dropping a 15 foot putt to beat Phil Mickelson Payne went over to Phil, took his face in his hands and told him “what you are about to experience is much more important than what you lost today”  The next day Phil became a dad for the first time.  Be safe, have fun, Happy Father’s day and enjoy the NBA Finals and US Open!

1-The NBA Finals start Tuesday.  Heat - Thunder....who wins in how many games?
Matt – I’m going to go with Thunder in 6
Wendt – Thunder in 6
Painter – The Thunder just beat a team that had the momentum, I'll take them in 6
BlakeThunder in 6
Majors – I'm looking forward to this series. I have the Thunder in 6. I think they have more ammunition as a team, as well as play more as a team in general

2-Rafael Nadal became the first man to win the French Open 7 times...this is a big deal, would it be bigger if it was an American?
Matt – If he was an American he’d be herald as a tennis God.  He is a great player and will be probably a top 10 all time male player.  But until Andy Roddick or some other American can go on a run like him, it’s a niche sport here.
Wendt – Yes, it would be everywhere if he was USA born and raised but since it's not nobody outside of tennis cares
Painter – Sure it's a big deal for tennis.  That's like someone winning the Masters 7 times
BlakeIt pains me that so many sports are virtually gone from American dominance.  Tennis is fading fast in America, but this is a huge deal.  I'm not sure Nadal will ever catch Federer for career Grand Slam wins though, because he seems to be a bit fragile.
Majors – It's cool and all, I am just not a huge tennis guy. I definitely respect him, he is unbeatable on the clay

3-Manny Pacquio was essentially robbed in his fight with Timothy Bradley Saturday night.  Some are saying this is what boxing needs to get back?  Do you think this will get boxing back?
Matt – Controversy won’t bring fans back, but it does get it discussed in front of MLB and NFL and the NBA for a bit.  What is odd is they have a rematch date and posters already set?  Kind of has a Vince McMahon feel to it. Boxing has to many governing bodies and needs 1 belt for each weight class not 3-4 belts.
Wendt – Manny vs Floyd could help bring boxing back but it'll never happen
Painter – This is a step in the right direction but it needs more.  A unified championship system, heroes and villains, more frequent fights, and less pay-per-view would help.  Boxing could really learn something from the professional wrestling world.
BlakeNo.  An official world wide governing body is the only thing that can bring boxing back.  That and another Rocky comeback
Majors – Nope. Bob Arum is the manager for both Bradley & Pac Man. He even admitted he will make a ton of money in the rematch. Then he followed that with a cough, it was a strange decision, cough. Boxing is so flippin dirty, I don't even bother anymore. Plus they essentially have 37 belts for each weight class. Even Vince McMahon laughs when boxing says it isn't set up. I feel bad for the boxers, though, they may make a ton of money, but it is fake

4-We did this with Iowa...now to be fair, the Cyclones.  In the past 11 years what are the top Cyclone wins on the gridiron?
Matt – 2011 vs #2 Oklahoma State – the biggest Paul Rhodes win.  2009 at Nebraska – they had no business beating Suh and the Huskers that day.  2005 vs #8 Iowa – Danny Mac shocked the top 10 Hawks again.
Wendt – 2009 at Nebraska, 2010 at Texas, 2011 vs Oklahoma State
Painter – Okie St last year, at Texas and at Nebraska, and to them any time they beat Iowa
BlakeIowa State over Oklahoma State last year.  End of list
Majors – Ummm, I believe it would have to be the game where they beat the Sisters of the Traveling Pants of North Central State College of the Blind.  Ok, ok. I definitely don't think they can count the OK St game last year. It was too much emotion on the day for the Cowboys. Guess I am really not sure

5-The US Open tees up this week....who is your pick to win it? (history lesson - Majors did call Bubba at the Masters)
Matt – I’m going to go with my initial Masters pick, Dustin Johnson.  I hope it’s a different Johnson winning though!  Go Zach!
Wendt – Give me Luke Donald
Painter – Jason Dufner has had the hot hand this year, I'll take him
BlakeFor some reason I feel this is the one where Tiger gets a little closer to Jack.
Majors – Yeah, would love to call the local boy again, but can't go to the well too much. I think I am going to go with Luke Donald. I think Tiger could do something, if he keeps his head straight. I am not saying he is back, but he definitely had some mojo last weekend

6-The Pirates have won 12-15 and are in a tie for first in the NL Central with the Reds, they were hot last year too...is this the year Pittsburgh gets post season baseball back?
Matt – I really hope they make a run, I like McCutchen a lot!  I’m going to say yes they make it over the Reds.
Wendt – Nope, Reds and Cardinals will rise to the top before it's all over and Pitt will probably be a 4th place team
Painter – Um, nope, although the NL Central isn't very good at all this year
BlakeUm...the central is open this year for the taking this year.  But I still don't see it.  Red should win.
Majors – They are a solid young team. They quit trading away their prosects, too. i think they could do it this year. The Phillies got old, QUICK! (For the record, Cliff Lee is killing my fantasy team, still ZERO wins this season)

5/31/2012

Friday 6 Pack

1-The Stanley Cup Final begins this week…the LA Kings take on the New Jersey Devils…who’s your pick and in how many games?
Matt – Playoff hockey is about as good as it gets.  I’m going to take the NJ Devils in 7.
Wendt – Los Angeles Kings in 6 games
Painter – The Devils have a lot of experience on their side.  This hurts to say but I'll take NJ
Blake – Brouder's been playing well, but the Kings seem unstoppable.  It all depends on which goalie gets the hottest.
Majors – I am going with the Kings in 6. Hot goalies are tough to beat!
Zach – Kings in 6

2-Memorial Day is one of the check points in MLB…who in the Show is your surprise so far?
Matt – Well I’m not surprised the Cubs suck.  I picked the Dodgers in the World Series so not that either.  Gonna have to say the AL East.  The Orioles and Rays are tied for first.  The Red Sox in last place.
Wendt – Probably a tie between the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals
Painter – Yeah....uh....
Blake – Baltimore and Washington leading their divisions is certainly a surprise.  Talk to me at the All Star Break, then I'll get really excited if both of those teams are still out front.
Majors – My Indians are still standing strong, so that is a plus. I am surprised though in the Phillies, they have just gotten old, fast. it happens, and sometimes it can happen in an off season.
Zach – From a team standpoint, it's obviously Baltimore playing so well. Individually, it's Melky Cabrera hitting around .370.

3-Summer is little league season, what’s one of your favorite little league memories?
Matt – First year of majors and 2 split teams in Garwin…playing Green Mountain(who we were consolidated with) and my buddy on the mound, down 1…2 outs and bases loaded.  The GM team hadn’t won in 2 years.  First pitch put it down the middle and I swung, got under it and popped it straight up to the pitcher.    I’ll remember that till the day I go to my grave.  The next year we had all my class on one team and lost 1 game in the regular season.  Played LeGrand in the 1st round of the playoffs and lost by 1.  That one sucked too.
Wendt – I remember hitting a homerun that hit a tree in the backyard of a house that was out in right field. Yeah that was a shot my friends
Painter – Only real memory I have was having to play 2nd base the last game of the year and I got the tag down for the 1st and 3rd outs of the last inning.  I had never played or even practiced at 2nd and I played the position perfectly all game, according to my coaches.
Blake – Duh, hitting a Home Run!
Majors – I have quite a few, but a funny one was when I was traded. I mean, seriously, who gets traded in Little League? My team needed a pitcher, the other team needed an outfielder, so it worked out well. Had a great season that year too.
Zach – Personally, I won a couple local titles as a LL player.

4-The French Open has started, do any tennis majors get your attention, or is this mostly a niche sport in your thoughts?
Matt – The only real tennis major I watch is Wimbledon.  It’s the Masters of tennis.  I’ll catch some of the finals but that’s about it.  I did enjoy Jimmy Connor’s run at the US Open though in the early 90s.
Wendt – I probably watch a little bit more when an American is in the fold to win.
Painter – I don't get into tennis at all but I know a lot of people that will watch the Wimbledon finals.  I do think it's a horse racing type sport where it's a niche for most of the year but casual sports fans will only pay attention a few weekends every year.
Blake – I love watching the final weekend, especially when you can wake up and watch the finals.  That's about it.
Majors – Tennis? Ummm...next.
Zach – Wimbledon is going to catch my attention since All-England Club is going to be used twice this summer. That might be advantageous to a few players

5-The History Channel is showing a 3 part mini-series of the Hatfields & McCoys, one of the fiercest rivalries ever….what is your favorite rivalry in sports and/or game?
Matt – IOWA-PURDUE!  :)  JK!  Bears-Packers is good but free agency has hurt NFL Rivalries, and remember how good Knicks-Bulls or Pistons-Bulls were?  Cubs-Cards is always good too, though as much as I am a Cubs fan you have to respect St. Louis.  Michigan-Ohio State is the best in college football…as for my favorite I’ll go with the Iowa-Minnesota-Wisconsin triangle, it sucks the Hawks-Badgers are playing yearly right now.  Those 3 together play for 3 great trophies too, Floyd, the Ax and the Bull.
Wendt – Iowa and Wisconsin use to be fun in college football. Lakers/Celtics is always great. Bulls/Knicks was fun in the 90's.
Painter – This is all I have to say
Blake – By the way, recording the series and excited to watch it.  Favorite rivalry is Cubs-Cards.
Majors – Iowa & Iowa St, right? I am in the middle of the Iron Bowl, Florida/Florida St as well. The South has some fierce ones, for sure. As a Raiders fan, I truly HATE the donkeys & queefs. The dolts aren't worth my hatred either, haha.
Zach – Kudos to History for putting on such a great series this week. It's silver-screen worthy. The most intense rivalry in sports has got to be Yankees-Sox

6-A popcorn movie question….Who, in your mind, is the best villain in all of movies?
Matt – For me it’s a tie.  Darth Vader is the ultimate bad ass, (spoiler alert)yes he turns good at the end of Jedi, but he is just bad….the other is the Joker, 1 psycho dude.  Hans Gruber is pretty good too.
Wendt – Hannibal Lector was a great bad guy
Painter – The Joker (The Dark Night), Caster Troy (Face/Off), Gabriel Shear (Swordfish) and Cyrus Grissom (Con Air) are my favorites. Could even put Danny Ocean on there.
Blake – Hmmm...gotta go Darth Vader.  There are a few others, Jaws from the Bond movies, The Joker, but I think Darth runs away with it.
Majors – Wow, good one. As cliche and easy as it sounds, Heath Ledger & his Joker were unbelievably bad. Wait, what about Sheriff Buford T Justice! He was a bad guy, right?
Zach – Best villain: I'll go down the Disney route and Mufasa in "Lion King."

NO 6 PACK next week - The 6er dude will be out.
