What I would do if I was Iowa State....

A month ago Gene Chizik said he was in Ames for the long haul to get things done. He did, he pulled an Alford. Took a program down a notch from where it was. He's gone to Auburn, somehow, I can't believe that Auburn actually touched him. But that's done now. Time to look forward. Now I'm a Hawkeye fan, but ISU alum so I'm going to try do this with very lil bias.

Iowa State needs to make a move that will bring something innovative to Iowa State. Something that it hasn't seen before, or something the Big XII hasn't seen before. Purdue did it with hiring Joe Tiller and bringing the spread offense to the Big Ten, and that's what I think ISU needs to do, and the coach to do it now is Mike Price of Utep. He's had alot of success at Washington State with a couple Conf Titles and Rose Bowl appearances, and has a fun offense that can put up alot of points.

I'm sure Jamie Pollard won't do that and will go after Turner Gill or someone younger, but I think that's what ISU needs to do.

Armageddon Predictions

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - John Cena (c) vs Chris Jericho....Jericho wins via DQ, no title movement

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - Edge (c) vs HHH vs Jeff Hardy....Edge wins, Hardy is brought up to another level.

Batista vs Randy Orton....Orton wins the with the help of Manu and Cody Rhodes

ECW CHAMPIONSHIP - Matt Hardy (c) vs Vladimar Kozlov....The Russian gets the Extreme Belt.

Finlay vs Mark Henry....The world strongest man comes out on top

Intercontinental Championship Tournament Final - Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk....Rey Rey is a 619 away from taking the belt off Regal.

2008 Bo Carter Award

Finalists are Colt McCoy, QB, Texas; Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma; Graham Harrell, QB, Texas Tech.

Colt McCoy lead the Longhorns to an 11-1 record and a head to head win over Oklahoma while completing 77% of his passes.

Sam Bradford led the Sooners with over 4000 yards passing and lead the 12-1 Sooners to a Big XII Championship.

Graham Harrell lead the 11-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders to a #2 ranking, 4700 yards passing and 41 touchdowns.

And the winner of the 2008 Bo Carter Award is.....Colt McCoy, QB, Texas.

Hawks to the Outback Bowl

Hawks get South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, Jan 1st.

Gamecocks give up 138 yards rushing while Iowa is only giving up 11 pts a game. The Cocks O isn't that great either. Iowa's offense is mostly dependent on (soon to be Doak Walker award winner) Shonn Greene. SC is opened up early as a favorite in the game.

I can see the Cocks putting 8 men in the box to stop Greene so play action and passes to Myers and Moeki then opening up some deep routes with DJK on slants and outs, and Brodell on deeper patterns should losen that. The Hawks D is one of the tops in the country and should be able to stimey their offense. Early Prediction.....Hawks 33-Cocks 10

2008 WoodyBoFry Award

Finalists are RB Shonn Greene, Iowa; RB Javon Ringer, Michigan State; and WR Derrick Williams, Penn State.

Greene lead the Big Ten in rushing and helped the Hawks to an 8-4 record while rushing for 100+ yards in every game.

Ringer was the main cog in the Spartans offense that will be playing on New Year's day for the 1st time in a long time.

Williams was a do it all player for the Co Big Ten Champion Nittany Lions, rushing, receiving, passing and returning.

And the 2008 WoodyBoFry goes too........Shonn Green, RB, IOWA.

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 14

Conference Championships are done, the BCS title game looks like it will be Oklahoma vs Florida in Miami on Jan 8th. I don't really feel that I can put Oklahoma over Texas, though it is firing on ALL cylinders right now. Texas won on a neutral field. OU won the BIG XII because of the absurd Big XII tiebreaker rules.

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Oklahoma
4. USC
5. Alabama
6. Utah
7. Penn State

BCS BS

Ok, I'm gonna bag on the Big XII. I've pimped the Big XII South all season long. Texas, Texas Tech & Oklahoma in the Hawk Talk Top 7. But seriously Big XII, how can you let a crappy system select who plays in your conference Championship game. With Texas, TTech & OU all beating each other, you let a computer pick out who plays? Not what happened on the field. I knew you were a joke of a league but this takes the cake.

Iowa fans gte ready for Tampa, Hawks are going to go to the Outback Bowl. Sorry Marty Terrell, your claim that it was San Antonio and nothing else is wrong. With Oregon State getting beat by Oregon, the BCS is opened up for 2 Big Ten schools. Penn State & Ohio State will join the BCS Mix, Michigan State to the Cap 1 and Iowa to the Outback. Northwestern even though they beat us will be going to the Alamo Bowl.

2nd biggest win in the last 50 years?

Last night on the latest edition of WHO-Soundoff, they stated that Hawkeye Report creator Jon Miller said the win over Penn State was the 2nd biggest win in Iowa history in the past 50 years with the 1981 win over Michigan being bigger. Seriously Jon? You really think that, or are you just sipping the kool-aid and trying to sell some magazines?

Yes, it was a great win, I loved every second of it. And it was a win we needed more than anything to go to a good bowl game. But I dont know if its the 2nd biggest win. Now going back 50 years is 1958. That's the 1959 Rose Bowl win. The 1981 Iowa Michigan game. The 1984 Freedom Bowl. The 1985 Iowa Michigan game. 1990 Iowa Michigan game. 1995 Sun Bowl. 2002 Iowa Purdue game. 2002 Iowa Michigan game. 2004 Outback Bowl. 2004 Iowa Ohio State game. 2005 Capital One Bowl. Of those, here how I'd rank them.

1985 Iowa-Michigan is by far the biggest win in Iowa history. Biggest game in Iowa history, #1 vs #2 down using all 60 minutes. No question.

The 1959 Rose Bowl win goes up there. It's the Rose Bowl. The #2 Hawkeyes destroyed Cal lead by soon to be #1 draft pick Randy Duncan and the Football Writers named Iowa the National Champions.

The 2002 Iowa Michigan game. Iowa was coming up as a team that could run with the big 2. Iowa went into Ann Arbor and out physicalled the Wolveriens. Holding them to 22 yards rushing and the 34-9 win was the worst loss for Michigan in 35 years. It also put the Hawks on the national map on their way to the Orange Bowl. And Brad Banks became a Heisman candidate after the game.

The 2005 Capital One Bowl. Tate to Holloway. Enough Said.

Then I'd put the 2008 Iowa-Penn State game.

So Jon, quit drinking the what's happening now, it was a BIG GREAT win. But don't put it up on top of those games just yet.

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 10

The new man on top doesn't have any problem with the bulls eye on his back. Texas Tech rolled through Oklahoma State and now has an off week before @ Oklahoma and then vs Baylor to close it out.

Alabama avoided and upset in OT at LSU but Penn State wasn't so fortunate. The Lions went into Kinnick Stadium and left with a 1 point loss after a Daniel Murry FG with :01 left.

1. Texas Tech
2. Alabama
3. Florida
4. USC
5. Texas
6. Oklahoma
7. Utah

11/01/2008

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 9

Like I've said...."To Be The Man.....WOOOO!!!....You Have To Beat The Man!" Texas went through the Big XII South Gauntlet and Colt McCoy almost got them through until Michael Crabtree muscled his way into the end zone. The 4 teams (Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma & Oklahoma State) have all found spots in the Top 7, and there was one time I had 4 in the top 7. Texas Tech's beating of Texas just starts their 3 game run through the gauntlet now with Oklahoma State and Oklahoma waiting for them with the bullseye on their back.

1. Texas Tech
2. Alabama
3. Penn State
4. Florida
5. USC
6. Texas
7. Oklahoma

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 6

In the Top 7, quoting the great Ric Flair...."To be the man, WOOO, you gotta beat the man!" And that's what Texas did. The Big XII still dominates the top 7 with 4 spots. Missouri dropped out, Okie State moved up.

1.Texas
2. Penn State
3. Alabama
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida
6. Texas Tech
7. Oklahoma State

10/05/2008

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 5

Big XII cream rises to 3 of the top 4. Does #1 or #4 lose this week?

4-Texas
5-LSU
6-Penn State
7-BYU

Hunt for October

Ok, so Chicago is going wild. The Bears are 2-2 with wins over the Colts and Eagles and should be 4-0 but blew leads vs Carolina and Tampa Bay. The Cubs are the best team in the NL and going into the playoffs as the favorite to reach the World Series and win it. And tonight the White Sox beat the Twins in a 1 game playoff to make it a trifecta of teams in the windy city.

So the 8 teams are in. Games start tomorrow, here are my pics.

Division Series
Cubs over Dodgers:3-1
Brewers over Phillies:3-2
Rays over White Sox:3-2
Red Sox over Angles:3-2

Championship Series
Cubs over Brewers:4-2
Red Sox over Rays:4-3

World Series
Cubs over Red Sox:4-1

MLB Predictions

World Series – Detroit over Chicago

Hopefully the Cubs can win the Series.

I'll make my playoff prediction tomorrow after the Twins/Sox game is in the books.

Sept 20th College Picks

Michigan State vs Notre Dame: This rivalry has taken a lot of shape the past 5 years or so. Notre Dame put a big hit on Big Blue last week. Javon Ringer is running wild on non-Big Ten competition. I think that you see the Irish get a taste of what they did to Michigan last weekend. Ringer will get his hundy and a couple tds. Spartans 34 – Irish 13

Georgia vs Arizona State: The Dawgs leave the south for the first time in a while and the SunDevils are coming of an upset to UNLV. Devils were caught looking ahead last week and now welcome a top 5 team. The Devils have been the sexy pick for years to top USC and shock the world. The Dawgs are one of the best in the SEC and nation. I think that you see the SunDevils get caught up in their selves and they will keep it close for 2 quarters, then UGA runs over them. Dawgs 37 – Devils 20

Auburn vs LSU: The Tiger Bowl! LSU is the defending champs. Auburn has a heck of a D. Winner takes control of the SEC West. I think LSU has had to go through a lot of adversity with the Hurricanes this past year, and that hasn’t shown with the weak competition so far. War Eagle comes out with a huge conference win…close. Auburn 13 – LSU 10.

I State vs UNLV: The Cyclones travel to sin city to take on the Rebels, who will try to go back to back on wins vs the BCS conferences. I State’s offense was befuddled by the Iowa d last week and the weather didn’t help. UNLV will want to pass on the Clones, but the Clones DBs are their stronger position on the defense. On offense the Clones are going to have to enforce their will on the Rebel D, but their OL hasn’t looked great all year. I think the Clones will pull it out at the very end on a Phillip Bates play. They better hope it doesn’t come down to a fg too. Iowa State 27 – UNLV 24

Iowa vs Pittsburgh: Hawks travel to the Steel City to take on the fighting Wandstedts. Pitt was supposed to be a top 25 team this year but come out of the gates stumbling to Bowling Green and then struggling with Buffalo. Iowa is 3-0 but the competition hasn’t been the Big Ten’s slate. This will be a huge test for both teams. Both teams want to run. Iowa’s rush D should be the key to this game. Pitt will finally score on the Hawk D but it won’t be enough. Iowa’s rotating QBs and Shonne Green come out on top. Iowa 20 – Pitt 10.

Last week:4-1
Season:4-1

9/12/2008

Sept 13th College Picks

Notre Dame – Michigan: Has this game been less hyped more than it is this year? Notre Dame looked AWFUL against San Diego State, and Michigan hasn’t grasped RR’s offense yet. The game is in South Bend but I don’t think that matters. Jimmy Claussen doesn’t look like the best HS player from a few years ago. Michigan doesn’t look like Michigan, but from what I’ve seen they have more players. Michigan 24 – Notre Dame 6.

Penn State – Syracuse: Remember in the late 90’s when the Orange dominated the Big East and were in BCS bowls beating up on other leagues? What happened? Penn State looks to be up there with (a healthy) Ohio State as tops in the Big Ten. The Orange don’t come close in this one. Penn State 45 – Syracuse 13.

BYU-UCLA: How many times have these teams played in the past 16 mos? BYU is the girl with the curl pick to bust the BCS. UCLA is trying to get back to Pac 10 and National prominence with Rick Neuhiesel running the show. A win here is another notch up the ladder. I think a lot of points will be posted. UCLA comes up a field goal short. BYU 38 – UCLA 35.

Ohio State – USC: The Collision in the Coliseum. Yes ESPN has to name EVERYTHING. These early season match-ups between big time schools are what college football needs more of! Please all BCS schools take note of what these 2 teams are doing. Schedule somebody’s, not nobodies. That being said if Beanie Wells was healthy, this is a completely different game. Ohio State struggled with Ohio with out him last week. If he doesn’t play, its UGLY. USC will roll over and go to 12-0 and the BCS Championship game. USC 44 – Ohio State 17.

And now the BIG GAME

Iowa State – Iowa: Battle for the CyHawk trophy. Iowa is 1-9 vs the spread the last 10 years. The game is a lot closer since 1998 when Iowa State broke the 15 year reign of the Hawkeyes. Iowa has looked dominant in their first 2 wins vs Maine & FIU (please see Ohio State/USC) and Iowa State has looked improved vs SDSU and Kent State, minus some ball control issues. Iowa’s settled on Ricky Stanzi as starting QB now, and I-State still has the 2 headed monster at QB in Arnaud and Bates. Weather looks like it will be a BIG factor too with 90% chance of rain, and heavy rain. That being said, this game will be won in the trenches. The big uglies going at it, and with the game coming down to that, the edge goes to the Hawkeyes. Iowa’s DL is the best in the Big Ten and one of the tops in the nation. Iowa has a huge edge there. On the other side, the Iowa OL is trying to get back to what it was, and it’s on its way there. Iowa State’s DL is average in the Big XII. I think you see a lot of Shonne Greene and Iowa’s lines dominate. Iowa State will cover the spread but the Cy-Hawk Trophy goes back to were it belongs. Iowa 27 – I State 17.

9/07/2008

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 2

1-USC
2-Georgia
3-Florida
4-Oklahoma
5-Ohio State
6-Missouri
7-East Carolina

WWE Unforgiven picks

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Scramble--Punk somehow I think comes out as the winner in the end with a pin over JBL that will continue their feud. I could see maybe Punk & Batista simultaneously pinning JBL to have that feud go on with Batista.

WWE Championship Scramble--What a joke....HHH all the way. Jeff Hardy shows the most competition, MVP-Shelton will cost Hardy the title.

ECW Championship Scramble--Hardy shocks the strongest man in the world.

Divas Championship Match--Michelle McCool will hold on to the title for a long time.

Cody Rhodes/Ted Dibiase vs Cryme Tyme--CT is up, but the Priceless team needs to have the belts to be relevant. They screw Cryme Tyme. Rematch will happen on Raw.

HBK vs Chris Jericho--The match of the night. Jericho will win the match, and take out HBK for a while (to let him rest and heal up) and to prolong and make Jericho a bigger heel.

9/01/2008

Hawk Talk top 7 - Week 1

1-USC:Trojans beat up on UVA, stay #1
2-Georgia:GaSo no match for the Dawgs
3-Ohio State:Lose Beanie Wells, could hurt them in 2 weeks vs USC
4-Florida:Gators roll again
5-Oklahoma:Sooners roll too
6-West Virginia:No Rich Rordriguez, but 'Nova no match for WV
7-Missouri:Tigers beat Illini, but D looks week vs Juice and Illini

Why I think Dan Patrick left ESPN.

It’s been about a year now that DP has left the world wide leader to go off on his own. The move was dubbed by Rick Reily (one of DP’s friends) one of the worst moves in broadcasting history up there with Katie Couric leaving NBC Today show for CBS Evening News. And in that time he was replaced in the 12-3 time slot by Mike Tirico and Scot Van Pelt. Now they aren’t DP, but they’ve brought something fresh to that slot that DP was lacking his last few years.
Thinking bout it and looking at it where he was when he left, and now where he is. I think he made a mistake, but I think he was losing ground at ESPN, and now losing where he is at anyway. So there are a few reasons I think he left.

1-The time slot
2-The rise of Mike & Mike and Colin Cowherd
3-The loss of Rob Dibble
4-The failure of the Big Show Hour

The Time Slot.
Look where he is now. 9-11 cst. Where was he at ESPN, 12-3. He’s 3 hours earlier. He’s not in the afternoon when more work in the offices is usually being done. He’s not on the #3 tier on ESPN where what he says is being repeated for the 3rd time now. He was becoming old stale news we already heard about. This is combined with #2, but we hear a lot from Mike & Mike, Colin or local people, hearing a 4th take on something gets old. Do we need to hear another persons take on Manny, Brett Favre or Tom Brady? No. Where’s he’s now, he is usually after someone local. He’s the 1st national guy now and is more relevant but not since he’s not on ESPN.

The rise of Mike & Mike and the Herd.
Mike and Mike were big but they are bigger now. They are becoming Giants of sports radio. But they are usually over when some people get into the office. The big hurt came when Colin Cowherd came to ESPN radio replacing Tony Kornheiser. The Herd brought a new approach to the 9-12 slot and something completely opposite of Tony. Tony wasn’t all about sports, he was about life. So going Tony to DP was something fresh and not recycled. Now the Herd is there, he’s the new kid, the lil brother rising up and taking the head of the pack. When you got to DP, you heard Colin’s more definitive take and usually a take that is what the normal sports fan is thinking. I think when DP left and still now, Colin was on top of Dan.

The loss of Rob Dibble
Batman can survive with out Robin, but DP took a bit hit when he lost his sidekick. Dibble was that awkward, dumb funny guy who still knew his stuff. Dibble was one of the reasons to listen. When he was gone, the show was missing something. Phil the Showkiller couldn’t fill it himself. Dibble was as much of the show as DP was. With him gone, it was almost boring to listen to just Dan. And that brings us to….

The failure of the Big Show Hour
DP and ESPN Radio tried to recreate the sidekick part with ole buddy Keith Olberman, but Keith was no DP. Granted it was still good and for nostalgia fun to get the 2 back together. But Keith wasn’t the Keith from his ESPN Days. He’s moved on. Kinda like how Craig Kilborn has moved on. It was “cute” but it’s nothing that could have built the show back to what it was.

I think that SVP and Tirico are good replacements and SVP is just hilarious. It’s something new, and fresh, and fun. They are giving us something that the other 2 shows aren’t which makes listening to ESPN Radio fun now. You never know what is going to go on. Like SVP, Tofoya and Timmy Kurtjen talking about the Bear on the golf course at the senior open or talking about video games.

What's going on?

Ok, so its been a few days, and a lot has happened. In my life and in what I like and follow.

First off, me. Had the month end, it sucked, had a few things that caused problems, but then again, we weren’t here till 10 pm, only 8pm. Not bad, it was longer than it really seemed. Also got an interview for a job I think that I would do good at and would advance me.

Then this week is the start of the Iowa State Fair. If you haven’t been there, put it on your list of things to do. Along with the Texas State Fair, it’s the top 2 fairs in the nation. Last night was the State Fair Parade, and Addy, Brady & Shawnna went to it with Patrick & Melissa. The all had fun and were pooped out when I got there and when we got home. It’s cool as Addy is getting older to see how she reacts to everything and as her budding personality builds more. Had Ryan & Tisha’s wedding, congrats you too. It was humid as hell but it was a lot of fun. Addy is calling Tisha and Ryan the Prince and Princess and just wants to see the Princess. That pretty much covers most of what’s going on. I’ve missed working out with Jason because of our schedules and then he only having 1 car. Hopefully we can get back on our schedule of T-Th-Sat again soon. I see it prob being at 5am rather than later though.

Ok, other stuff. Brett Favre isn’t a Packer any more. He’s a J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS. I heard Chris Mortensen and he thinks because of this move that he thinks the Jets are a playoff team now, I don’t see it. In the AFC you have the Patriots, Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Jaguars, Browns, Bengals, Bills, Texas, and Titans who are all going to be fighting for the spots, and I think all of those teams are better than the Jets. I love the OL they have and Thomas Jones, but Favre is a year older, new team and new system.

Mediacom still has no Big Ten Network. Iowa plays in 23 days; I hope and pray that a deal will be struck soon! Please!!!

2 fantasy drafts coming up in the next month, can’t wait, can you smell the tailgating!

Can I get traded to Microsoft or Google?

Today is a big day in the world of the MLB, trade deadline. Actually its not really, its MLB’s 2nd Hallmark Holiday (1st being the All-Star Game) because some how from now to the end of the season, players will still get traded, pass waivers or end up on different teams. So like most MLB news, it’s over blown. But this year there are a couple big names that could be or already are traded.

2 players with 400+ homers could be traded. 1st Ken Griffey Jr. #6 All-Time on the HR list, 1 behind Sammy Sosa, has been traded from Cincinnati to the Chicago White Sox ( if he agrees ) in a trade that has been mentioned for what seems likes 10 years now. The White Sox probably get better but will it be enough to hold off the Twins and Tigers?

The next is Manny Rameriz. Mr Red Sox. Has Manny being Manny caused him to piss off the Red Sox brass to get rid of him and then get Jason Bay in return? I don’t think so. Manny is Manny, and that is an RBI and hitting machine! The Sox are 3 behind the Rays in the AL East, and I think if they get rid of him I don’t see them wining that division, and with the Yankees getting hot, could the Yanks surpass them for the Wild Card? Red Sox need to keep him. Or trade him to the Cubs.

How would you like 20 million to NOT show up for work? That’s what the Packers are offering Brett Favre. Can I get that deal? Where was that when talking to the counselor at high school? I want that gig! The Pack are in a position that they are looking bad, really bad. It’s Brett Favre. He is Green Bay as much as Lombardi and Lambeau. If he wants to play, you let him play. You don’t let him go to Minnesota or Chicago and you don’t trade him. Do you want to be known as the GM that trades the Legend?

Manny for Farve? Sounds good!

Going to the I-Cubs game tonight, Addy is excited like no other. She thinks she is going to play there and not watch the guys play. She’s wanted to go all summer long, and I’ve gone a few times, but Addy and Brady are going to get to go a couple times this month. This weekend then heading to the Twin Cities for Ryan & Tisha’s wedding. Should be a fun…and long weekend.

Can you smell football season around the corner? It’s on Sunday Night!

Parents, open your eyes and wake up

This is good, and great at parents not taking responsibility for their kids and actually rasing them instead of being their friend. Parents need to realize that sometimes, yes your kid is a F-Up and you need to step in and not blame everything on everyone else.

This is hilarious - no wonder some people were offended! This is the message that the Pacific Palisades High School California staff voted unanimously to record on their school telephone answering machine.

This is the actual answering machine message for the school. This came about because they implemented a policy requiring students and parents to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework.

The school and teachers are being sued by parents who want their children's failing grades changed to passing grades - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough school work to pass their classes.

The outgoing message:Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school. In order to assist you in connecting to the right staff member, please listen to all the options before making a selection:

To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1

To make excuses for why your child did not do his work -Press 2

To complain about what we do - Press 3

To swear at staff members - Press 4

To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers mailed to you - Press 5

If you want us to raise your child - Press 6

If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7

To request another teacher, for the third time this year - Press 8

To complain about bus transportation - Press 9

To complain about school lunches - Press 0

If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable and responsible for his/her own behavior, class work, homework and that it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort: Hang up and have a nice day!

If you want this in Spanish, move to a country that speaks it!

DirecTv will never see any more of my money

So I used to blog on myspace but I’m going to be slowly phasing that out and getting to facebook and this site for blogging. But anyways that’s just I guess a hello to blogger.com.

So last night I was hoping would be a good night would grill out, work out, kids would sleep good and I could actually sleep too. It went well right up to in between grill out and works out. Noticed that DIRECTV in all the wonder and majesty that is their company thought that 1 day after sending a bill for disconnecting their service, they would take out roughly 400 bucks from my checking account with out any authorization. Apparently it is in the legal jargon, as is if you open a box means you “SIGN”, yes “SIGN” a contract extension. WTF? Does that mean that if I open a can of Pepsi I’m signed to a 2 year contract with Pepsi and can’t get out of having anything but Pepsi? No!

And who reads a box. If you’re like me, when you get something new, its like kid on Christmas day, rip the sucker open. Who reads the box? It’s a terrible way to do business. And I’m already dropping big bucks to get a DVR or HD-DVR receiver. Talk about bending your customers over and giving them the business.

So for about 2 hours my wife and I argued with DIRECTV, contacted our bank, and will be contacting Tom Miller, the Iowa Attorney General. I really like the DIRECTV product, the NFL Network and Big Ten Network are great, and hopefully (fingers crossed) gets the Big Ten Network by August 30th. But their customer service, along with Qwest and the bundle, and what they do to their customers is a totally joke and a shitty way to do business.

Ok, done venting on that.

How bout the Cubs? 2 wins on the road at Milwaukee over CC & Sheets! Big statement made by the North Siders.

Is anyone else tired of Brett Favre?
