2012 Big Ten Predictions

Getting to be that time of year again…the magazines hitting the shelves and the pundits are all weighing in with their opinions on who’s going to win what titles and going bowling where.
Here’s my 2012 Big Ten Predictions
LEGENDS
Nebraska 11-1 / 7-1
Michigan 9-3 / 7-1
Iowa 9-3 / 5-3
Michigan State 8-4 / 5-3
Minnesota 6-6 / 2-6
Northwestern 5-7 / 1-7

LEADERS
Wisconsin 11-1 / 7-1
Ohio State 9-3 / 5-3
Illinois 8-4 / 5-3
Penn State 7-5 / 3-5
Purdue 4-8 / 1-7
Indiana 3-9 / 0-8

2012 BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Wisconsin over Nebraska

As a result of their head to head win over Michigan, Nebraska heads to Indianapolis. I have Nebraska losing at Ohio State.   The second year in a row I’m picking an all red Indy for the title game and this year I'm taking Wisconsin.
Sparty is still good but losing Cousins will drop them from the Legends top spot.
I think Denard has another huge year in Ann Arbor, Monte Ball rushing td’s drop a bit this year from last year.
Iowa is kind of hovering in that spot of 8-4 and could be as good as 10-2 but also not shocked if they would have another 7-5 season.
Jerry Kill gets the Gophers bowling in 2012.
Fitzgerald can’t pull another miracle bowl in Evanston this year.
If only Zook could coach like he could land recruits, Illinois will benefit from 3 easy wins vs Purdue, Indiana & Northwestern.
Indiana and Purdue battle to stay out of the cellar.

Big Ten Awards - Week 7

Team of the Week  Michigan State - Sparty took it to Michigan in the Battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy and won a 4th straight meeting vs big blue brother.  Edwin Baker got to running and they held Denard Robinson and the Wolverine offense as much as you could and dominated in a 28-14 win.  The Spartans get back into the Big Ten Spotlight with a huge win in the Legends Division.  East Lansing will get GameDay’d next week as they host the Baaaadgers.

Helmet Stickers – Monte Ball  RB  Wisconsin  The Badgers running back should also get Heisman and Doak Walker hype along with Russell Wilson.  All this guy does is score touchdowns, and this week he even threw a touchdown.  Final state line for the back was 14 rushes for 142 yards and 3 scores; 1/1 passing for 25 yards and a score.  He’ll get Michigan State’s D to go up against this week, looking forward to this matchup.

Game of the Week  Penn State 23 : Purdue 18 – Is this the same Penn State D that held Iowa to 3 points?  Did they just get up to try to end the skid to the Hawks?  I’m still in shock of this game that the Boilers were within 2 late in the game.  Penn State though sneaks out with the W and a 3-0 start and quietly are 6-1.

Highlight of the Week - Denard Robinson TD Run

Big Ten Takeaway  Ohio State proved you can win with only 4 pass attempts and upset the Zookers.  Zook should have just loaded up the box the whole time and stopped the run.  Michigan State shocked me with their play vs Michigan.  This week will be good vs Wisconsin.

National Takeaway – Oregon got help from the refs vs Arizona State and ended up getting dinged up vs. Arizona State…Sparky and the Devils though will get the last laugh as Arizona State will play Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship game.  A&M vs Texas ending this year is sad, really sad.  C’mon Texas man up and play them.

Big Ten Awards - Week 6

Team of the Week : Nebraska - The Huskers got down big and early to the Buckeyes in their first home Big Ten contest and then on the legs of Rex Burkhead stormed back and got their first Big Ten Conference win.  Early on it looked like the new kids on the block would move to 0-2 but when Bauserman came in at QB for Ohio State, the Huskers went rolling, outscoring OSU 28-7 in the second half.  The Huskers don't look as dominant as we thought they would coming in, but still at 1-1 have a chance at Indy.

Helmet Sticker - Denard Robinson - Qb - Michigan : The Wolverine QB threw for 337 yards and 2 scores (also 2 picks) but also added 117 on the ground with 2 running scores.  Coach Hoke isn't completely abandoning the Rich Rod philosophy as he knows what he has in D-Rob and he is letting him do what he can.

AJ Jenkins - WR - Illinois : The Illinois wide out is playing like a WR possessed.  Moss and Megatron like.  This week the Illini wide out had 6 receptions for 182 yards and 2 more scores.  He's becoming the most feared and talented wide out in the Big Ten.

Game of the Week - Nebraska 34 - Ohio State 27 - The game was a tale of two halves.  The first half it was looking like the Huskers would go 0-2 in the Big Ten and Ohio State was going to shock the conference.  Then the 2nd half was all Huskers saying "Not so fast my friends".  The Huskers avoided a 2 game hole avoiding the loss 34-27.

Big Ten Takeaway - Michigan and Illinois are the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the conference.  Michigan isn't back but they are getting breaks and making the most of it.  Last time Michigan was 6-0?  They finished the season in the Rose Bowl.  Illinois is looking like a Jan 1 bowl bound and will give Wisconsin the biggest run for their money at the Leaders Division.

NCAA Takeaway - They need to get a playoff in this year!  One of the SEC teams will lose and so will one of  Big XII teams but then there's Wisconsin, Boise, Clemson and Stanford out there.  Will everyone unbeaten, no but the cream at the top are really good.

Heisman Ballot - 1. Russell Wilson : 2. Robert Griffin III : 3. Denard Robinson

Jimmy John's Big Ten Challenge
Week:  Matt (5-1)           Chad (5-1)          Kyle (4-2)
Season:  Matt (45-12)          Chad (44-13)          Kyle (42-15)

Big Ten Awards - Week 4

Well I said in the predictions, watch out for North Dakota State and North Texas vs Minnesota and Indiana respectively.  What happened....Minnesota suffered its 3rd loss to a Dakota team since 2007.  Indiana went to the Mean Green's new stadium and former Iowa State coach Dan MacCarney came away with a win.

Team of the Week : NEBRASKA : I would have said Wisconsin but they played a FCS school.  The Huskers went to Wyoming, 3-0 from the Mountain West and racked up nearly 500 yards of offense and controlled the game throughout.  The Huskers play their first Big Ten game next week when the go to Camp Randall and take in a top 10 showdown with Wisconsin.

Helmet Sticker : This will be a little deja vu from last week but here we go - Denard Robinson - QB - Michigan.  Yes he had a couple picks but Denard ran for 200 yards with 3 touchdowns, one being a bullet out of a gun run for 53 yards.  He won't be able to have passing performances like that in the Big Ten and win but he sure can run the ball.

Russell Wilson - QB - Wisconsin : Ok, how did he get out of NC State and to Madison?  Wilson tossed the ball for 345 yards and 3 scores.  The Badger QB is in the top 5 in passer efficiency in the nation and is on his way to All-American/All-Big Ten and Heisman status if he keeps this up.  A BIG test next week vs the Blackshirts.

James Vandenberg - QB - Iowa : If not for Wilson Vandenberg is having right now what could be an All-Big Ten year.  After 399 yard performance last week, JVB threw for 270 and 3 scores (2 to Marvin McNutt) and also ran for a score in Iowa's romp over Louisiana-Monroe.  The Iowa coaches may have seen something in their signal caller and are letting him sling it a bit more than we are accustomed to seeing.

Game of the Week : Illinois 23 - Western Michigan 20 : The Illini are off to their best start in more than 50 years after a struggle with the Broncos.  Being ranked for the first time since 2008 and the Big Ten season on the horizon the fighting Zookers might have been looking past Western Michigan a bit, but in the end were able to wear down the Broncos and rack up nearly 300 yards rushing.  Illinois next hosts Northwestern in Big Ten Play.

Highlight of the Week - Denard Robinson 53 yard touchdown run vs San Diego State
-The run is at the 20 second mark

Big Ten Take Away - I'd rather not dwell on the negative but on a weekend were there wasn't much competition (other than in Champaign) Minnesota and Indiana in their coaches first years are struggling.  They lost to teams they should have beat today in North Texas and North Dakota State.  I don't see them going winless in the Big Ten, but they will struggle this year and maybe next, but the fans should get behind Kevin Wilson and Jerry Kill.  Rome wasn't built in a day, neither are college football programs.

National Take Away - Robert Griffin III and Baylor are good.  This isn't your father's or grandfather's Baylor Bears.  RG3 has more TD's in 3 games than incompletions.  This has been against TCU, Stephen F Austin and Rice.  TCU is good but the others are world beaters.  Next week they go to Kansas State where the Bears should move to 4-0 and RG3 will continue to put up impressive numbers again.  If you get a chance to watch him, the dude is good!

Jimmy John Big Ten Challenge

Week – Matt (8-2)          Chad (8-2)          Kyle (8-2)

Big Ten Awards - Week 3

Welcome back Jerry Kill!  one week after suffering a seizure on the sidelines, coach Jerry Kill returned to the Gopher sideline and notched his first W with a win over Miami(Ohio).  Along with Kill, Indiana coach Kevin Wilson got his first win as Hoosier coach with a 38-21 win over South Carolina State.

Team of the Week : ILLINOIS - Arizona State came into Champaign with a 2-0 record, some fancy new uniforms with a new logo, and a win over top 25 team already last week topping off Missouri.  Also the tallest QB in the nation at 6-8.  Though Illini QB Nathan Shcheelhaase was the QB that lead a game winning drive in the 4th with a TD pass.  The Illini and Ron Zook are now a quiet 3-0 in the Big Ten with the impressive win over Arizona State and can go 4-0 next week with a win over Western Michigan.

Helmet Sticker : Denard Robinson went off like it was 2010.  Rushing for 198 yards vs Eastern Michigan he also tallied 3 tds in a 31-3 victory.  The Wolverines were never in any doubt to lose this game but PS3 (aka Shoelace) went off again and was just fun to watch.  It's not RichRod's offense but Hoke isn't dumb enough to keep DRob just in the pocket.

James Vandenberg threw for 399 yards, 168 in the fourth quarter and 3 tds to lead Iowa to it's biggest comeback victory in school history.  Kirk Ferentz and Ken O'Keefe abandonded the run vs 8 in the box and got rid of the play action and let James sling it. Hopefully they learned something from this.  He put the Hawks on his arm and did what he does best.

Russell Wilson also put on a passing clinic.  Earning his 2nd helmet sticker, the Badger QB threw for 347 yards and 3 scores in a route of Northern Illinois in Soldier Field.  The transfer has been a nice addition for the Badgers who with Wilson have a threat at QB now with their road grading running attack.  In 3 games Wilson has 759 yards passing and 8 tds to 0 int.

Game of the Week : IOWA 31 - PITT 27 : Don't call it a comeback!  WOW.  What happened in Iowa City was reminiscent of Iowa-Indiana 2009.  Down 21 at one point Iowa went to outscore Pitt 28-3 over the final 16 minutes to move to 2-1.  James Vandenberg tossed the ball 399 yards and had 3 tds.  With little time in the 3rd the Hawks changed their offensive philosophy from running and play action to a gun slinger in no huddle and shot gun and it worked.  The offense sparked, Jordan Bernstine started and laid some big hits.  Micah Hyde capped the game with a pick as Pitt was driving.

Highlight of the Week : Jeremy Ebert touchdown grab vs Army.  (at the 47 second mark)

Big Ten Take Away : Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten.  Nebraska jumped up in competition and showed its stuff.  Though I still think if you get the Huskers where they need to pass they are in trouble.  Illinois is a sneaky 3-0 and may give some teams some fits.  Iowa needs to abandon what they are known for with this young team.  Michigan State isn't in trouble, just met a desperate Notre Dame team this weeknd.

National Take Away : Auburn's luck ran out with a 14 point loss at Clemson.  Oklahoma made the biggest statement of the weekend with a win over Florida State at Doak Campbell.

Jimmy John's Big Ten Challenge
Week – Matt (8-4)          Chad (7-5)          Kyle (8-4)
Season – Matt (27-9)          Chad (27-9)          Kyle (26-10)

Big Ten Awards - Week 2

First off, thoughts go out to Minnesota and Head Coach Jerry Kill who had a seizure on the sideline with 20 seconds left in the game.  Hope he gets well and back soon!  Also thoughts go to former Iowa DB Brett Greenwood who collapsed at a workout at his highschool Friday.  Hope they get back and going soon!

Team of the Week: Michigan State : The Spartans came in today as the #17 team in the nation, and will be top 15 after today.  They will compete with Nebraska for the Legends Title.  They hosted Florida Atlantic, yes it was just the Owls, but they rolled and did what they were supposed to from the get go!  44-0

Helmet Sticker: Last year he did it with huge offensive numbers, this year they weren't as big but just as dramatic.  Denard Robinson led the Wolverines to 14 points in the last 1:40 of the game with huge throws.  He ended with 338 yards 4 passing TDs and one rushing TD.  The last coming with 2 seconds left.  The dude is just amazing, and I don't know what else to see about him.  The last 5 minutes of the game were great.

Game of the Week: Got a couple place you could go here in the Big Ten.  Of course the thriller under the lights in Ann Arbor where the Irish and Wolverines went back and forth in the last 90 seconds for 21 points.  That has to take the cake.  But there are 2 other games that deserve mention.

Toledo almost became the first team from Ohio to beat the Buckeyes since 1909.  They lit a scare in Ohio State most the game and drove down inside the redzone with a chance to score under a minute left but came up short.

Finally in Ames, Iowa and Iowa State scored TDs in the final 5 minutes of regulation then went 3 OTs and ended with the Cyclones scoring on an option from Steele Jantz to James White.  It's Paul Rhoads 3rd Big Win in as many years (Nebraska-09/Texas-10/Iowa-11).

Highlight of the week: Michigan's game winning touchdown vs Notre Dame.

Big Ten Takeaway: Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska are going to be the class of the conference.  Michigan is going to be exciting and in every game as long as Denard is healthy.
National Takeaway: College football rules!  I'm sorry NFL but yes your game Thursday was amazing, but college football has seen thrillers the first 2 weeks.  Take out all the Texas and realignment drama, College Football is the best thing out there!  Now if we can just get the BCS thing fixed!

Big Ten Jimmy Johns Challenge:
Week – Matt (9-3)          Chad (9-3)          Kyle (8-4)
Season – Matt (19-5)          Chad (20-4)          Kyle (18-6)

Big Ten Football – Week 2 Predictions

Last week the Big Ten went 10-2 (Indiana and Minnesota were the L’s) and my picks went 10-2.  Mother Nature also had a big hand in last week’s games delaying games at Iowa and eventually canceled the game at Michigan.  The Big Ten has a couple pretty B1G games this week so here we go.

For the first time ever the Big House will be under the lights!  And who better to have their first night game vs than Notre Dame.  The 2 winningest programs in NCAA football history.  Throw back jerseys are designed for this game.  Brian Kelly may blow up a time or too and Brady Hoke hopefully won’t have another wet t-shirt contest going on.  As for the game, the Irish will start their 2nd qb in as many weeks.  Denard Robinson led a 4th quarter comeback last year vs the Irish and put up an insane amount of yards, but last week was pretty mild in Hoke’s new offense and Brandon Herron did something never done in a Michigan uniform ever with scoring 2 defensive return touchdowns in the same game.  This week I think we see a classic close game, I don’t think either team pulls away from each other and in the end Denard Robinson does it again and leads Michigan to the win.  MICHIGAN 32 – NOTRE DAME 26.

Week 2 Big Ten Picks
Illinois vs South Dakota State - Illinois
Indiana vs Virginia - Virginia
Iowa @ Iowa State - Iowa
Michigan vs Notre Dame – Michigan (M)(C)/Notre Dame (K)
Michigan State vs Florida Atlantic – Michigan State
Minnesota vs New Mexico State – Minnesota
Nebraska vs Fresno State - Nebraska
Northwestern vs Eastern Illinois - Northwestern
Ohio State vs Toledo – Ohio State
Penn State vs Alabama - Alabama
Purdue @ Rice - Purdue
Wisconsin vs Oregon State – Wisconsin

**UPSET ALERT**
Iowa @ Iowa State – it’s in Ames, and crazier things have happened there.
Purdue @ Rice – The Boilers had to have a miracle at home vs. Middle Tennessee State, could get sneaky vs. the Owls.

Jimmy Johns Big Ten Challenge
Week 2   -  Matt (0-0)          Chad (0-0)          Kyle (0-0)

Big Ten Awards - Week 5

Now that's how you start conference play.  With a bang.  Great games really everywhere except Iowa City.  The Hawks destroyed Penn State from start to finish, dominated like I thought they would.

Michigan State dropped the Badgers in an emotional game for them the day after head coach Dantonio was re-admitted to the hospital for another blood clot.  Great game, got up on the Badgers 20-10 and Wisconsin fought back but Sparty pulled it out.

Ohio State had a scare with Terrell Pryor getting dinged up vs the Illini and left Champaign with a win 24-13.  Denard Robinson and Ben Chappell light up the scoreboard in Bloomington.  Denard Robinson scored with 17 seconds left to help Michigan win 43-35.  And in Minneapolis, Jeremy Ebert made a ridiculous catch in the end zone late, but a 2 pt conversion failed.  Cats held and got the ball back for the winning field goal and iced it with a late interception.

Helmet Sticker - Who do you think?  Denard Robinson.  Helmet Sticker #4.  Scores the game winning touchdown vs the Hoosiers with 17 seconds left.  Put up 277 passing and 217 rushing, oh and 5 touchdowns.  Was he dinged up?  Didn't look it.  I don't know how many more weeks he'll be able to do this with the competition getting tougher.  Michigan goes to Sparty next week, will be interesting to see him progress through the Big Ten Season.  But so far here are his numbers.  731 yards passing, 688 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.  Simply PS3!

Team of the Week- Gonna go co-teams of the week.  First Michigan State.  They didn't get lucky vs Wisconsin.  They beat Bucky.  They went in the game with their head coach back in the hospital with another blood clot and then ended the day making a statement and setting up a 5-0 vs 5-0 match-up vs Michigan next week.  The other is Iowa.  They came out and dominated from start to finish.  The Hawks have dominated 18 of 20 quarters this year.  The bad 1st half vs Arizona is costing the Hawks a top 7 ranking.  Penn State never had a chance in this game from the start.  Adrian Clayborn broke out with 10 tackles and a sack.

Game of the Week - Northwestern 29 - Minnesota 28 -  The Gophers gave the Cats all the wanted.  Had a lead late in the game.  Stopped the Cats on a two point conversion to still be up by 2 but the Brew Crew hasn't learned how to win close games.  The Gophers came up short and Northwestern is 5-0.

Highlight of the Week - Yea its #16, 72 yard run.  Enjoy it, along with the rest of the highlights from the Hoosier-Wolverine game.

Picks - I went 4-1 on my picks, 42-5/4-1.  Also -1 in the Jimmy John's Challenge.

Next Week Quick Look - Game of the Week will be in East Lansing.  Michigan State hosts Michigan.  Both teams are 5-0.  Winner will be sitting pretty at 6-0/2-0.  There's also a little game in Madison for THE AX!

9/19/2010

2010 - Week 3 Big Ten Awards

And he's off again.  In my predictions I put PS3's (aka Denard Robinson) over all yardage vs UMass at 365 and well I was pretty close.  He put up 345 yards (241 passing and 104 rushing), but like a few teams in the Big Ten this week, the Wolverines had to hold off a MinuteMen comeback and won 42-37.

Then there is Wisconsin.  A lower level Pac-10 team in Arizona State came in to Camp Randall and was a yard and or a blocked PAT from upsetting and sending the game into the game.

I almost put this on my predictions blog.  Upset Alert on the Illini.  Playing little brother Northern Illinois I thought the Huskies would give the Illini a heck of a game and I was right.  Illinois had to hold off NIU in the 4th to hold on to the win.

Minnesota moved up a level in competition, hosting USC and for a few minutes lead a couple times over the Trojans, in the end though USC pulled away for a 11 pt win.  Penn State destroyed Kent State.  The Ohio State University beat Ohio U bad.  Purdue got past Ball State and Indiana is 2-0 for the 7th year in a row after beating Western Kentucky.

And now if you stayed up late. Michigan State sent Notre Dame to 1-2 in the Big Ten on the ballsiest play of the day.  Down 31-28 in overtime, Mark Dantonio called for a fake FG, a play called "Little Giants" and 27 yards later, Michigan State wins.

Then in the Desert, even before ESPN could broadcast the game, Arizona was up 14-0 after a blocked punt and a pick 6.  Iowa cut it to 14-7 then 100 yards later on a kick return it was back to 21-7.  Iowa was down as much as 27-7 and cut back with plays from McNutt and a DL's dream of a pick 6.  Nick Foles drove Arizona to a TD with around 3-4 minutes left, then sacked Iowa 4 straight plays.

Helmet Sticker - Should we just give him the WoodyBoyFry Big Ten Player of the Year Award?  That may be fast forwarding a bit to much but Denard Robinson is a freak on the field.  He threw his first pick but is still putting up FREAKY numbers.

Team of the Week
- Yea they played Ohio but Ohio State did what you need to do.  Go up 34-0 at half, get out of the game unscathed.  Get the backups some playing time.  Good week for the Buckeyes.

Game of the Week - Michigan State 34 - Notre Dame 31 - Prime Time at Spartan Stadium seems to be a good place for great finishes (see Iowa/MSU 2009).  The game went back and fourth, with the Irish going up 28-21, the Spartans then tie it to send it to OT.  After a Irish FG, Dantonio had the intestinal fortitude to call a fake fg from 27 yards out.  The Spartans might now find themselves ranked or closer now.

Highlight of the Week

10-1 on my Picks for Week 3  30-2 on the year.  Not to bad of a run so far.

Next week is a Rake Your Lawn Saturday in the Big Ten.  I'm not even going to attempt to pick a Game of the Week.  Like this week, next week should be a good week for the Big Ten before conference play begins on October 2nd.

9/13/2010

Denard Robinson = PS3

I’m not a Michigan fan, in fact I don’t like them.  But I respect the maize and blue and the winged helmets, and ‘Hail to the Victors’.  I'm not a fan of RichRod, but what I am a fan of is watching football and studs on the field.

Exhibit 1, well how bout exhibit 16, Denard Robinson.  Dude had 500 yards of total offense HIMSELF.  That’s more yards than any top 25 team put up this week.  And he’s not doing it vs. Tennessee Tech of Mount Saint Pleasant of Western Illinois.  He’s doing this against Connecticut and Notre Dame.  Two teams that should be in bowl games this year.

The dude’s a stud, but he needs a better nickname then Shoelace.  When I hear that I think of Shoeless Joe Jackson.  So Just Talking To Myself is promoting a new nickname for Denard.  PS3.  Dude puts up video game like numbers, he’s an X and Y button the field.  So Michigan fans I’m looking at you.  Denard Robinson = PS3

9/11/2010

2010 - Week 2 Big Ten Awards

Opps he did it again. He showed a few glimpse of this last year, but where in the world has Denard Robinson come from? 244 yards passing and 258 yards rushing with 3 total scores. Not to mention leading the Wolverines back in the 4th quarter with under 20 seconds left to beat the Irish in South Bend 28-24. Rich Rod's crew is 2-0 and looks good. I expect to see them in the top 25 this week.

Ohio State hosted Miami in what was touted as part of Monster Saturday. Just like in 2002, the Buckeyes beat the Canes, this time it didn't take a Phantom Flag. Jacory Harris had a rough day vs the Bucks in the rain and Terrelle Pryor put up 340+ of yards of offense.

In Iowa City the Hawkeyes destroyed their instate rival Iowa State by taking their manhood in the first quarter and never letting them have it back Hawks won 35-7. It was the first time ISU had scored a touchdown vs the Hawks since 2006.

Then there's the Gophers. It's probably safe to say that Tim Brewster's job is in jeopardy. Div-1AA South Dakota rolled in to TCF Stadium and QB Dante Warrne put up 400+ yards and the Coyotes gave the Gophers a huge upset.

In other games Alabama rolled over Penn State. Northwestern handled Illinois State. Wisconsin got by San Jose State. Michigan State beat Florida Atlantic and Purdue got by Western Illinois.

Helmet Sticker - Denard Robinson - QB - Michigan. Yea, 2 weeks, 2 helmet stickers. 500+ yards of offense from one guy. Yea, he's good. Right now Michigan is rolling and it's because of #16

Team of the Week - Ohio State - This could have gone to Michigan, but going to go with the Buckeyes with the way the performed and dominated a top #15 team in Miami. Pryor looked really good.

Game of the Week - Michigan 28 : Notre Dame 24. The Irish had a nice 95 yard rainbow pass to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. They left to much time on the clock for Denard Robinson and the Wolverines. They drove the ball down, Denard was amazing on the drive and ran the in for the score.

Highlight of the Week -

More Highlights

I went 9-1 on my Week 2 picks, thank you Minnesota! 20-1 on the year.

Week 3 has a Rose Bowl type feel to it with 3 Big Ten - Pac10 matchups. Iowa vs Arizona is probably game of the week while Wisconsin hosts Arizona State and USC goes to Minneapolis to take on the Gophers.
